wait Series X/S didnt have auto HDR out the box?

As now Win11 is moot to me i cant even install if TPM is requirement, I dont have reason to use that stuff to being with even IF my PC supported it

Someone might be able to provide a PCIE board with the security chip on it.
The chips themselves are rather inexpensive, so shouldn't be a big issue if having them on such a board is possible.

They did come with the regular HDR which automatically can recon and switch between HDR|SDR.
Auto HDR seems to be a new feature for SDR games.
I hope Windows 11 will get both, since we badly miss that it can switch between HDR|SDR.on the fly, unless if the lazy game developers would implement it themselves.
As I see it, if one studio can make it work with a game all should be able to.

I guess the requirement is only there to ensure safe encryption if it is used.
Seems that there is a workaround replacing appraiserres.dll which will allow W11 to be installed and run regardless.
I think MS should reconsider and make it an opt in.

moot to me less they make that optional, Direct storage is only thing I interested and it only support NMVE SSD and not Sata SSD. Then they have the whole "MS account" is required BS I like using Local Account a damn reason

I`ve just run the compatibility app and apparently a Ryzen 7 5800x, 32 gig ddr 4 3600, Msi 3070 gaming xtrio and a Sabrent rocket plus 1tb running a legal version of Win10 doesnt meet requirements

You need to have CSM disabled and fTPM enabled within your BIOS

If you have an Intel system, you can use Intels PTT which should be in the bios settings. TPM is not a strict requirement, otherwise W11 is dead in the water.

Hopefully they will allow users that want to stay on Win 10 the use of any upgrades.

Maybe they will allow for some of the next gen updates like DirectStorage to also work on Win 10. Like they did with Win 7. If enough people make enough noise about it they may be forced to also update Win 10 with some of the new features.

Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 on October 14th, 2025. Which means thats a long time left for improvements and updates.

You are running legacy mode? What W10 build are you one and which issues?

I used Windows own PC healt check, just to see if one of my PC´s would be accepted for w11.
But i got "... contact your IT admin."

Does that mean my key is a bundle of keys bought cheaply for Enterprise?

This is stupid. I have new Maximus Xiii Hero and that has a TPM header next to PCIE 2 slot according to the manual. Well my RTX 3090 is a 3 slot card so that would block the TPM header. Hopefully by the time they actually release Windows 11 TPM and Secure Boot requirements will be removed. PC is for own personal use. Should be up to me how I wish to keep it secure.

Just checked my pc with the tool not compatible even though i meet the hardware requirements with TPM 2.0 setup.

Looks like Microsoft are cutting support for any Intel CPU bellow a i8xxx.

DirectStorage will be exclusive to Windows 11. I'll take that.
