GeForce 466.63 WHQL driver download & discussion

I would blame this to Microsoft as 47x branch was suppose to be release now with Windows 10 Manganese or Iron. Both version was canceled by Microsoft.

 

Am i the only one getting freezes which requires rebooting after alt tabbing? Happens almost all the time with these drivers especially in csgo :/

 

Happened to me in Chrome while browsing, i disabled hw accel in chrome/discord/spotify (i had them opened)

To see if thats the problem.

These drivers giving me restart of my rig everytime when I turn off my monitors - safe mining setup working excellent (1095core@725mV+1000mem) with precious version. Downgraded already. From the other end - 2025core@950mv@+1000mem on 3080 give me around 18500 in timespy (5600x). Too bad that this piece of software is so unstable.

 

Since I downloaded 466.63 have had low fps but the biggest problem I'm having is my memory usage starts going up after starting my game (MechWarrior 5) and peaks at 32gb which is how much system memory I have and then crashes. My average fps dropped to around 2 fps at the peak of memory usage. I have tried going back to a previous driver but the problem persist. If anyone has a fix or any helpful thoughts please let me know.

 

Sounds like a memory leak.

 

What does that mean? I know alot about computers and hardware but have never heard of a memory leak. Please explain. Thanks

 

This is a first, getting nvlddmkm black screen crashes with 466.63 like many others, rolling back to 466.47 now.
Seems to happen with chromium based browsers open in the background?

 

With last drivers i had problem with Audio / Video desynch, is it fixed?

 

same here. Alt + TAB game with chrome open = freeze/black screen/driver crash.

not to mention the audio cutting off on some alt tabs

A memory leak is a game issue 99% of the time not a system issue. You need to ask the makers of (MechWarrior 5) to look into the leak. Or just stop using it before it gets to 32gb and restart it, a pita i know but solves crashes.

Happened for me when I ALT +TAB game with edge chromium open.
466.47 does not have this issue.

I don't know about the audio part, using an external soundcard.

 

History demonstrates you're wrong, though usually when a driver introduces a leak its within one of its own components or services and not in the process itself.

Usually the rare games with own memory leaks already had them before driver changes and with cards from no matter which camp.
A real good examples of that could be Warhammer Online after it's launch, took quite a while for them to fix it back then.

For MW2 it seems to be an issue related to DLSS, looks like it's the performance profile, turning it off or using quality seems to fix it.

 

This driver has major problems with crashes and blackscreens, back to 466.53 for me.
