Can't claim my buying a complete new gaming computer last November was a 'clever' move, the 780's & other components were 7 years old. But the £3,400 I paid seems like a bargain now. I paid £900 for an ASUS Rog Strix 3080 OC within that system and have zero interest in paying £2,000 - £2,500 for a 3080Ti alone. I feel sorry for anyone chasing after a graphics card (alone) at the moment and can't see the supply/prices situation improving anytime soon.

How does that justify msrp of 1200

If it were a medicine or water treatment equipment, I think there would be a moral obligation to justify a seemingly high price. For a graphics card, I don't believe there is any need to justify it.

Nvidia make it, they set the price they want to sell it for. Then people can decide to buy it or not. I'm sure you're a smart person, you understand that.

I can't afford a 3080ti and don't feel that I deserve to be able to afford one.

Not only double, triple even. I guarantee there won't be one where I live below the 3000 euros mark.

yeah, right.are all of us thinking that releasing those cards is like taking a dump on us ? don't think so.I don't.
their recent rkl/ampere headlines smell of fecal fetish
I'd rather steer clear of this level of commentary. And not have to read links about defecating on customers on g3d.

you are outraged at the wrong card here

Looks like Ill be sticking with my 5700xt for another year and waiting for the next AMD line up. Ill just wait to upgrade with AM5 and when PCIE4 can actually be utilized. I found if i wait 3-4 generations to upgrade I can afford one of the cards after its been out for a couple of years.

The only cards nvidia makes profit on are sold exactly at MSRP.

You're right about two things. Nvidia setting the price (at least msrp) and buyers choosing whether it's worth it.

If it wasn't for the part shortage this wouldn't sell. Nvidia is playing its customers as usual which is grounds to disregard any of their rationale.

the amd alternative is have enough vram but can't run ray tracing
i'd like to have 12g on every card at least, but at some point when none of the cards offer the complete package you have to think about what is a good substitute for a card that has better RT and dlss but is a little short on vram.Is it a card with worse rt and no dlss but double the vram ? I think it's not always gonna matter as much.

yeah,I told you nvidia is comfortable with 3070 going against 6800 due to amd lagging behind in ray tracing and image reconstruction.
hence the 100 premium on 70ti.not worth it imo.3060ti or 3080.that is all.

pointless discussion anyway with current situation.

Why you pick some site that we cannot have access to and see the actual data?

And you post this in Guru3d of all places, where the latest GPU review is more than enough to see all the cards in many games.

RTX 3080 Ti specs are nice but that price? Ouch! It's at least £200.00 too high in my opinion and should be £849 at most and not the £1,049 that NVIDIA advertise on their website. NVIDIA are just taking the piss in my view because they know they can get away with that pricing.

Not that you will actually be able to buy it for that price anyway (I reckon it'll be £1,300 to £1,500 at least, and if you could even find one in stock. Let's face it this is going to be Out of Stock / Sold Out for 9 months just like the RTX 3080. It's hard to get excited about a product that you know will have sparse availability.

Looking to upgrade my ageing GTX 1080 Ti with an RTX card but can I buy one anywhere in the UK? Can I feck! Still can't even get hold of a 3080 and that came last September! Even if I buy a new pre-built PC with a 3080 Ti installed then the card itself will still cost more than the MSRP.
