"Or just extract the BIOS with GPU-Z and then open up MPT and do the changes and write SPPT?" This will do.

And if anything goes sideways after the reboot (meaning no screen or boot error) I can just use my other card to boot and then change the settings to default?

Nothing will go sideways as long as you stick to just using MPT without flashing bios etc.(others can confirm). You might have to boot in safe mode at max.

If it helps someone; I was getting Radeon Software: Host Application has stopped working error since yesterday. Tried the usual DDU and cleanup up with different drivers but to no avail. Finally, had to reinstall windows which is not as much of an haassle these days. But this is the first time I have faced an issue with AMD Graphics since I switched to them 6 months ago.

You have to flash, preferably using amd winflash

    Edit-- or not

So about people getting bricked cards due to BISO flashing etc., Are they still salvageable using another card, or does bricked means gone for good? I am just talking about basic bios flash no fancy mods etc.

I tried a modifidd BIOS of my own doing with 2801 min mhz and a frequency range of 2800-2900. I did not brick my card and was able to flash back. Not sure what people are doing wrong.

What are you using to test OC? I know the best way is to test in multiple games but what else do you use apart from m 3Dmark stress tests?

I have the same 6800 XT Red Devil, did yours come with a default power limit of 281W and TDC Limit 255A? Seems very low compared to the other AIB cards, even more so when the red devil has a 14+2 phase power design. Anyways my question is, using 340W power limit and 15% in Wattman too? Is that safe?

I use the GPU-Z test first, then move into games. It froze immediately in GPU-Z so I flashed back.

I was talking about OC in general. I was doing some testing and it seems I can add about 75MHz more to the core clock equalling 2725MHz in Radeon Software (are new drivers helping?). This is Port Royal Stress test stable. Working with games as welll. Just wanted to know of any software/game that can definitely crash bad OC.

Yes that's my procedure in general.

I think Overwatch in 4k with 200% supersampling is the best.

    Hey all!
I have been looking around quite a while since I got my 6900 for a bios editor to edit memory straps and max mem overclock limit, with no luck whatsoever...
Is MPT the only current utility for big navi tweaking?
I was about to start looking for the straps tables manually but then i remembered i needed to sign the bios after the changes, or add a checksum, i don't remember clearly right now, it's been a while since i did manual straps editing.
    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanx!
    Best regards!

Finally getting somewhere. Raised the power limit in MPT to 280W so with +15% now its 320W. Reduced voltage to 1100 and set the clocks to 2500-2600MHz. Getting 10550 points in Port Royale. 14300 in Fire Strike Ultra. Clocks sit around 2450-2550. No dips below 2400MHz. Only second GPU test in Time Spy is crashing but there must be something wrong as it can crash even on default, no OC settings (it happened before).
Ran Metro benchmark and getting 97 fps average on Full HD and Ultra preset. Clocks stay over 2400MHz all the time. Could you run the same benchmark on the same preset and share your result? I would run in 1440p but that option is missing on my system as I have an ultrawide screen, so I can only select either FullHD or 2550x1080 or 3440x1440.

Congrats! Here is the run on Ultra preset 1080p:

Then 10 fps more on average, I don't know if its the better clocks that you have or is there something wrong with Metro on my system.

Better clocks and more power (UNLIMITED POWER :D): 2725Mhz and ~400 W (max GPU). Also, make sure that you have re-sizable bar enabled as well. What are you Mem clocks?

Yeah, ReBar is enabled. Settled so far on 2400-2550MHz clocks, 2100MHz on memory, and 1100mV. 10691 points in Port Royale. Also passed Port Royale Stress Test with 99,5%. Tempted to go higher with MPT but will pass for now, maybe when I get more powerful PSU.

Is it safe? Haha I wouldn't really know until next year or so if my card degrades. With that said, we aren't increasing the voltage so the only thing we would have to be concerned with is heat. I have seen my card pull around 360 to 370 watts and even with that junction temps were only around 75c. Mind you I am on water. The red devil cooler is super beefy though, so increasing the fan speed should still tame the higher wattage.

Just got a 6800xt, its an OEM dell one, but with a water block on it.

I feel like alot is left on the table. 2300-2400 avg clocks, 41-43c load, and Junction is around 75c when pushing it hard.
