I hope that the RTX in vilage is not going to be something like a amd gimmick. I hope rtx works on nvidia cards aswell also the performance must be way better on nvidia cards.
RTX and Fidelity FX are just a branding, there's no vendor specific raytracing on DX12 (and even vulkan has vendor agnostic RT extensions now). It ultimately still boils down to DX12 RT, whether the proxy implementation between engine and graphics API was devised by NVIDIA, AMD or developers themselves.
No. It's on May 1st. But anyone can pre-load the game today. Link to the demo page, on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1541780/Resident_Evil_Village_Gameplay_Demo/
I love it when people trash a game with bad reviews because the servers are busy, demo isn't available in their region etc. Why they even allow it is beyond me. with most things done well on Steam, this one is just embarrassing.
There are no issues - demo isn't "out" yet, it can be downloaded and booted but it checks online for right time/date and IIRC it's somewhere between 4-6 hours from now that it can actually be played. I assume they get shat on because that's very unorthodox way of executing it. For once i'm no fan of limited play time kind of demos and now they try to stack always online on top of it to make sure people aren't bypassing their limits with Cheat Engine like the did with RE7/RE2R demos. And they still will...
If u want to play the demo for more than 1 hr just delete the save file and achievements with SAM then Turn off Steam Cloud
Or is this confirmed to work or people are reposting this because this is how it worked for RE2 demo. RE8 Demo tries to sync time from server so i don't think this will work.
Played the demo maxed out - plays and sounds pretty great. RT though is pretty insignificant, some shadows seem visibly dithered while others aren't and reflections seem to have visible pattern of some sorts. Other than that only issue i noticed was severe fps drop when you were swarmed by the bugs of the vampire chick in castle demo.
I finished the Village part, going to play the castle part when I get home. It is visually very nice and the sound is good as skacikpl mentioned. That old lady was very creepy, but I love the setting/art direction they took. I'm going to pre-order .
Ok I had to install official 466.27 driver now it started (was on insider 470.25), before it would crash right by ingame intro scarecrow menu.
i had similar fps drops i think but that was in the vilage after the burning house cutscene it was under 30 fps might be a bug or something was weird.
