To all people criticizing, do you understand this is a fan made mod?
I would have downlaoded it if it wasn't that of 4 files, 2 are hosted on website that my antivirus categorically refuses to visit.

it’s so hilariously bad it makes it good. I actually love the game. It’s progression system is a lot of fun to work through.

Much worse than that: Underground (number 1) was and still is THE VERY BEST OF the NFS series. NEVER, N E V E R will be anything close enough to it Underground 2 is a SHHHEAAAAAT, stinking pile of crap in comparison with numero uno... And they (producers, designers...) are perfectly aware of this fact... And they will never-ever significantly upgrade it's graphical quality, because it would have been TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE... And they do not want it - think of a bartender who puts salt into the drinks to make guest more thirsty, right?

That costs money. Remasters are here to make money. Minimal investment, maximum profit.

Some remasters are only here to ruin the originals and some can be faithful to the originals.

Not sure about "horrible" After all this is a very old game and in my opinion it looks pretty nice with this mod and i appreciate modders putting in all the efforts they do (and it doesnt cost us a thing). Regarding physics, well cant really change those :p I hada lot of hours in this game and might actually try it out again with this mod

Like that Hot Pursuit 2010 "Remaster" which looks identical to the 2010 version.

I'd like Goldeneye N64 remaster on Switch Pro, 4K DLSS, motion controls too.
Bloody hell i'd pay top dollar for that.

I still say the best example of a true Remaster is Homeworld. That game is gorgeous.

It does look decent, better than a lot of the other "Ermagerd Ray tracing!" videos of older games out there. (Helps a lot since the camera is more in a fixed position as a racing game. It helps avoid all the pitfalls of this shader)
But not a fan of Reshade RTGI. It certainly doesn't look any more "real" that's for sure because it has fancier lighting and ambient occlusion applied over a simplistic lighting model. Though that's probably the best case scenario to be honest considering how bad it looks in games with a more modern lighting model.

I feel a proper remaster leaves the graphics intact, but makes it work on modern PCs with widescreen support and modern controls, like the Anno History Collection.
