Have any of you seen Intel CPU prices recently? 10850K is a bargain, along with other 10th gen CPUs. You'd be crazy to buy expensive AMD right now.

I wouldn't call running at stock clocks in excess of 90 degrees "no problems"... that's not healthy!

90c in gaming, or 90c with avx 512?

    +25% wat

In Norway we have 5 years "return if broken". Doesn't matter if the product has 2 or 3 years warranty, you get 5 years :D That is one reason hardware is a bit more expensive in Norway, but worth it buy a long shot :D

$1200 vs $540, enough said.. But its actually comical that an Intel 14nm+++++++ almost shits on AMD's latest and greatest in synthetic benchmarks not mention will most likely destroy it in most games. + it has a futuristic box...

    GN's review.
    11700k looks meh.
btw can we appreciate how well 10700k does in triple A's like rdr2,hitman 3,cp2077....it's faster than 5800x.at current 290eur price it's a steal.

Exactly what other benchmarks showed and You were hoping for more . Failed product . Better get 10th gen if you are for Intel or wait for Alder Lake . This is SKIPPY lake at best :)

Yes, the 14 nanometers are ripe for very high GHz but at a cost of efficiency, the 5600x I own operates at 65 watts while after oc it reaches 104 watts and in ECO mode for simple internet use or for a movie it barely consumes 45 watts, So that's where AMD beats INTEL. When Intel decides to go 10 or 7 nanometers, be sure that AMD 7 nanometers will be more mature for higher GHz while it has already gone to smaller nanometer numbers in relation to the programming it has done with TSMC.
Ι am currently playing games with pbo and curve optimizer at 5GHz with performance very close compared to a 10900k clocked at 5.2 I lose about a 10% average in games that are very cpu intensive also for light burst applications I can hit 5.1GHz and I paid 310 euros for the 5600x Opera Snapshot_2021-03-23_100221_uploads.disquscdn.com.png

So much discussion for basically a decision which is:
    - Want it cheap to buy -> get Intel (what a weird thing to write)
    - Want it power efficient -> get AMD

The difference in performance for gamers is so small, that the saved money could be spent on a better GPU (if they were available for normal prices).

    tdp values are a myth
5600x tends to consume quite a bit of power,90-95w stock, for gaming since 6/12 is getting pretty high usage in modern games.8/16 is best for performance/efficiency.

my 10700f stays at 40w in gaming

btw 45w for internet browsing is ridiculously high should be under 10w
I have firefox with 10 tabs (incl. a video playing), edge with ms office forms,ms teams running, mpc with a video paused and package tdp is reading 3-8w
I think my whole system doesn't take 45w.1070 reads 16-17w in idle (dual monitor).
that's 25w for cpu+gpu, cpu alone should never run 45w in idle/light load.maybe your'e reading from the ups ? My reading from ups is 56w whole system+one monitor
