Hello, yesterday a new valorant patch 2.05 was published and since then i was unable to launch the game. The game said that the process had a critical error and hence was terminated. While i was looking at my event log i found: Name of faulty application: bad_module_info, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x00000000 Name of faulty module: RTSSHooks64.dll_unloaded, Version: 0.0.0.0, Zeitstempel: 0x6047e336 Exception Code: 0xc0000005 Error offset: 0x000000000007d940 ID of faulty process: 0x13cc Launch time of faulty application: 0x01d71aa9d5a27cf3 Path of faulty application: bad_module_info Path of faulty module: RTSSHooks64.dll Report ID: 5306e831-5d7b-4c64-94c9-5684a8072cae That is one of two messages. Unfortunately the original log text is in german ,so i quickly translated some stuff. As a result i turned of MSI Afterburner along with RTSS et voila. The game is launching again. Also I tried to re-launch MSIAB and RTSS while mid game which gave me horrible stuttering. I also made a report to riot games about this. I just wanted to let you know as well.
you haven't provided anything that can be acted on, the info from event viewer doesn't give any meat for a developer to dig into.
Seems like the update from yesterday evening wasn't the whole update. I just installed the final part of the update. Obviously something WAS wrong ,but it seems to be back working now. Should have retested prior to posting , appologies for the inconvenience. Of course I will be doing further testing and see if it is fully resolved. @Astyanax curious, what you think I should be providing in case of? Have no clue tbh.
Update: Turns out that the new Gforce Drivers 461.91 are causing quite a lot of bad_module_info errors in the eventlog. Wasn't even able to launch apex legens via steam. After rolling back to 461.40 all is back to normal. Maybe the security stuff within this driver is causing the issues. Not an expert on this.
