The Coolest of having Dual Monitor Setup. Ultrawide + Wide Resolution of 3440x1440 + 2560x1440 = 6000x1440 Please ignore the weird washed out color, I unable photo taken the output in proper using my mobile phone.
So guys i came across this new listing for a brand new monitor. Do anyone use 43 inch super ultra wide or should i just stick to 34" 21:9? I mean its a 2x24 inch so little narrower than my 27 inch. Aspect ratio is worring me. Anyone have some experience or though about it?
You will get tons of black bars everywhere. With 21:9 you usually had two black bars. With super ultra wide you get 4. Also, your windows/text will look super tiny some times due to height.
Yeah i though so. Maybe its just better to get the 34" ultra wide like the G5. They cost the same 550€. Im still debating damn it just cant decide what to do.
Well you can't go wrong either. But Since I use a G7 and I like Sam's VA, I would get the G5. Although I have seen them floating around at 400-450€. If you can pick or find a deal somehow. Surely you get the best monitor under 600. But I believe I've seen it many times even below 500. Basically if you can buy G5 UW at a third (1/3) of G9's current sale price. It is a steal. Think it better like that. Bang for buck!
@Undying Personally I would go with 34" monitor, I have Acer X34p Predator with AOC CQ27G2U which is curved 27" monitor, sometimes I prefer to play games on 34" but sometimes I prefer just use AOC which does have better black colours But for price 43" Asus is too not bad, I tried only 49" monitor in past and I didn't like it too much And Samsung G5 34" or G7 32" Odyssey personally I would consider too there Hope this helps Thanks, Jura
For 32:9 or 32:10 ratio like this, I suggest go for 49" in 1440p. 49" will be 2x 27". This one is 2x 24+" as this is 32:10 and resolution of 1200p only (a bit extra resolution of 1080p due to ratio of ?:10) If previously you use 27", this 43" will look small as practically it is 24" only x2. Font size will be slightly bigger than your 27" if your 27" is 1440p. Font size will be smaller than your 27" if your 27" is 1080p
Anyone know if ASUS is going to release and updated ASUS PG35VQ? it appears to be out of stock in most places or taken off sites so I am hoping this means we will get an updated version either with HDMI 2.1 or DP 1.4 with DSC this time
I've been using the Samsung CRG9 5120x1440p (32:9) 120Hz UW for over 1/2 a year and its a true wow! display. Nothing I played has side bars and have tried a lot of games. Highly recommended.
never been fond of the idea it adds a lot of peripherial space outside the center of your vision, taxes the gpu heavily on side detail. imo it's a very nice option for high end setups, but I'd rather enjoy higher framerate and settings on a 16:9 for my daily display and use 21:9 as secondary. or 43" 4K,problem solved on all ends.
I had a choice, continue using my better specced UHD tv or try the CRG9. Its 12% less pixels than UHD and looks great in its lower res of 3840x1080p which is exactly 1/2 the pixels of UHD. Good scope for keeping framerate up while giving you what its great at, deep immersion. The UHD TV never gets a look in for gaming now. I was playing Cyberpunk last night and didnt realise it was 5:30am when I stopped for a break!! I'm wrecked today. Havent dared start playing it again cos with this display its so addictive, got things to do...
Is that the pre-odyssey 49"? @Agonist have the same one he seems happy with it. Anyway i saw its still selling for 800$ but 1800r curve is not that great i think new G9 1000r is much better suited for such a large screen. Also no hdr i think or im mistaking?
CRG9 Samsung mobile UK 49 Inch CRG90 120 hz Gaming monitor LC49RG90SSUXEN – Curved Gaming monitor, Ultrawide screen, 1440p, QLED, FreeSync with HDR Dark Blue Grey: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories G9 Samsung Odyssey G9 Curved Gaming Monitor, 49 Inch, 240hz, 1000R, 1ms, 1440p, Black White: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories
yeah it's 12% less pixels but it's 1080p just with extra space on the sides for gaming i'd prefer a big 4K,for work two physical ones
Yeah but how big? I seen decent priced philips momentum 43" 1000 nits hdr, 4k, freesync but only at 60hz. Correct me if im wrong but thats too big for a desk. Its a freaking tv. These curved ultrawides are much better gaming experience. They are easier to drive and also high refresh rate.
Yes it came just before the Odyssey, same res with 120Hz instead of 240Hz. It has HDR which can be incredibly bright given its HDR1000 rating (I turn the backlight down a lot). Black level isnt that great in HDR mode but when set up properly its really very good still. I use HDR when available. I like the slightly wider curve because I sit just over a metre away. If it was closer I might prefer the tighter curve of the G9, I think I'd be happy with either.
You buy Super Ultrawide in 1080p? It was big different as the resolution is 1080p not 1440p. The resolution is only 3840x1080 even though it is 32:9 ratio and it is only extra 400 pixel horizontally in general compare with my 21:9 ratio 34" 1440p (3440x1440) monitor. You not getting much screen space with such resolution and 49" is equal to 27" in 16:9 ratio where never as sharp as it suppose and everything look too big to me. I also got another 34" in 1080p (2560x1080) resolution which is not my idea of resolution. If you buy 49" Super Ultrawide in 1440p which is 5120x1440 resolution, then different story. For 1440p, it look just nice and perfect for 27" in Wide (16:9 ratio), 34" in Ultrawide (21:9 ratio) and 49" in Super Ultrawide (32:9 ratio). For 1080p, it only look nice in 24" in Wide (16:9 ratio), 29" in Ultrawide (21:9 ratio) and 43" in Super Ultrawide (32:9 ratio). For 2160p (4K) resolution, it never is good resolution for Windows as it is too small and you cannot operate in 100% scaling in 27" (16:9 ratio), 34" (21:9 ratio) or 49" (32:9 ratio). 4K probably only good for 32" and above monitor in 16:9 ratio. They is no 4K monitor release yet for 21:9 ratio and 32:9 ratio. LG is always my preferable brand, thus I am waiting LG releasing 49" Gaming series in 1440p. Currently LG only had one model 49" in 1440p (5120x1440) but not from gaming series. Opening Microsoft Excel is the best way to demonstration differences of 1080p v/s 1440p working screen space. This is 34" in 3440x1440 resolution where you can display up to BA column and 56 rows. This is 34" in 2560x1080 resolution where you can display up to AM column and 38 rows only.
