3600 is a really good cpu and paired with any reasonable b550 board like asus strix b550i or aorus b550 pro should be fine. Thats a 200$ cpu and 200$ motherboard.
how much are they asking for it ? compare with 3700x,3800x,10700f,10600kf. it's a decent cpu,but it's starting to look a little off the pace in latest titles like cp2077 https://www.pcgameshardware.de/Cybe...k-2077-Benchmarks-GPU-CPU-Raytracing-1363331/ https://www.purepc.pl/cyberpunk-207...en-vs-intel-core-ile-rdzeni-potrzeba?page=0,6
Don't waste your money on such mainboards. Get the $140 MSI B550-A Pro. It's more than adequate for anything you might ever need, really. And it has good components as well and can run even a 16-core CPU if you ever want to upgrade again. I have one (running a 3700X on it) and can highly recommend it. Edit: Just make sure to stay away from X570 boards. They don't really offer anything actually relevant and have a stupid active cooler (meaning a fan) on the chipset making noise.
One day he could be upgrading to 5800x so more robust vrm on those motherboards would be useful. Anyhow for 3600 yeah there is no need.
225€ for 3600 and 270€ for 10600kf. But shouldn't I consider only a CPU supporting PCIe 4.0? And is there a reason to spend more if not interested in gaming? Any other recommendation as I can't find this?
Yeah Cyberpunk 2077 had a cpu bug that specifically affected AMD 6 core chips that was patched in January of this year.
The B550-A Pro actually has good VRMs It has the same VRMs as the X470 Carbon, which are more than decent. That means you could even run a 5950X on it actually. Just don't expect to overclock that, that's all. In any event, it's more than plenty for things like a 3800X or 5800X. Getting boards with top-of-the-line VRMs is really only needed if you want to overclock high core count CPUs.
those are fixed results 3600 just sucks there a mobo is so much more than vrms.... but the ones you're mentioning are fine boards.
Actually fan on the x570's dont even turn on if the chipset temps dont go over 60c which it never does in my case or any good case with decent airflow.
just get on where fan isn't suffocated by gpu imo the op should just go for a 3600 and a decent b450 if he's not into gaming
I am buying from a local store that mostly stocks Asus, ASRock and Gigabyte. If buying a B450, I think the price difference from a B550 should be significant. But shouldn't I consider a less "decent" B550 than a "decent" B450?
