    On YouTube a new video emerged of an i7-11700 Rocket Lake processor, being bitter against the predominantly the 5800X. The i7-11700 appears to be slightly faster than the 5800X in both the single- and...

    I like how the Hitman 2 chart starts at 0 but the Dirt 5 starts at 110 just to make those gains seem all the more impressive!

    Wonder how it would fare with the PL raised. 65w is almost half the 125w of the 11700k.

    Yes, I find it extraordinarily iritating when people do that, just start at an arbitrary point to make the differences look bigger.

    5800x only doing 625 points on cpu-z single core? looks weird, mine 5900x does 677 points in stock

    With a little tweaking 5800X also does 660pts.

    Dat Dirt 5 graph, LOL.

    Yeah, for sure. Yet the 10600K is still behind the 5600X in that Geekbench result in single core and far away in multi core. :D
    AMD is able to reduce 5000 series prices IF needed. And they will do it if needed as they milked customers enough since the launch of the 5000 series. Not to speak of releasing the non-X models.

    It's funny to see that Intel being slower in single core made Intel fans crave for being cheaper than AMD but when Intel was just a bit faster in single core (ComL vs Zen2, CofL against Zen+) like 5000 series is so now, Intel fans said that it is the fastest gaming CPU so it's worth the price premium. Sorry to say, but I'm LMAO about similar comments.

    yes but this is prolly all stock on stock memory speeds
    otherwise it's pointless comparing
    just like a dozen of people always commenting "but mine gets more"

    no wonder, with pbo, memory, fclk tweaking results should improve vastly

    Intel's bottom feeder ties single-core performance with the AMD's 450 euro crown jewel

    AMD did a great job with 5000, but Intel is a beast. Can't wait to see what they do with 3nm.

    All i see is intels best compared to ryzen 7 becouse ryzen 9 smacks down and it would be unfair comparison. These are anything but beasts more like crawling back from the pit trying to stay relevant. Amd 5000 are still cpus to get this year.

    I see you are having fun boys.
    please take this back to the kindergarten.

    btw you are both wrong,so congratulations, you sucessfully managed to start throwing your favorite brand's warm feces on one another.seriously, why do these two giants need PR departments when they have fanboys like that working for free.

    1170 is neither bottom nor top of the line.
    it's like 5800x had a 5700 non-x sku.

    Intel owns your soul if you truly believe what you're saying. You remind me those saying 10400 is a better CPU for gaming than 3600. Now you're thinking 11700 beats 5800. That's an ongoing comedy right here!

    how are you getting this ?

    according to actual tech sites, not some youtube turds,it is.
    https://www.computerbase.de/2020-05...schnitt_benchmarks_in_spielen_full_hd_und_uhd

    same or higher performance for lower price

    now these are just leaks, but the ipc uplift seems to be there.if you like taking risks then mock rkl before it comes out,but will your face be red when this 11700 drops at 350 eur and beats 5800x..... I am not making predictions, all I want is a 5600x equivalent for 220-240 eur and I'm happy. If their 6 core is 350 eur like 5600x and 8 core is 450 eur they can stick it,there's plenty of discounted 8/10c comet lakes to buy.

    Intel and AMD can lower their prices all they want (though I don't see why they would), but there's no incentive for retailers to follow suit, as everything is still selling out the moment it hits the channel.

    What do you mean
    Is plain obvious that 11700 is Intel's 65W, 8 core bottom feeder.

    (A very) rough 3nm projection:
    going from its 14nm to TSMC's 3nm, Intel should shave power by more than 2/3.
    Think 220W -> 70W

    while 3nm should bring only 1/3 less power to AMD which already uses some kind of advanced 7nm.
    140W -> 90W

    assumptions:
    intel's 14nm = TSMC N10
    Zen3 7nm is halfway between N7 and N5

    Good luck with that I guess it boils down to how much you want current gen stuff if you dont then get second hand, if you do pay the price but to expect either of these to sell the current gen product which is faster, and uses less power for less than they did the last gen is frankly loony, take that scenario forward and you have the Intel model of increased prices for the same or little incremental improvement because nobody is willing to pay for the research and Engineering.
