Yes! Since the december updates i had a bunch of issues with lags/freezing when opening/closing programs and games. The patch from 2 days ago did not do much so i hope this one will do it.

I have never had complete freezes.
The only noticeable issue with games on 20H2 is DX12 shader compilation stutter.

I am glad to keep all my systems and family devices at 1 year of delay about major updates.

Ha! So many people have been blaming Nvidia for the game freezes on their forums, turns out it was Microsoft's fault all along XD

Nice of them to let everyone know in advance why their system is unstable.
Its disturbing they left those suffering in limbo with no clue they should await the fix.

I'm afraid to turn back on the monitor sleep mode setting in windows. I was suffering freezes/crashes on a regular basis until I turned that completely off about a month or 2 ago. Been fine since. My PC (5700XT) is on pretty much 24/7 so it would be nice if this fixes it as I kind of like having the monitor sleep.

EDIT - from the comments, it seems it does address this very issue. It seems I wasn't the only one frustrated for a long time with this odd issue.

What baffles me is: how can they frack up something like that?

In the changelog of the patch you never see a full list of changed things, you read a couple of bullshit about bars, UX, cortana, and then you know they have playing around with something in DX12. Playing with it without doing anything major, otherwise would have deserved a line in the changelog.

This sadly didn't fix my issues. Guess i have to wait for another windows update or nvidia to fix their drivers. Still haven't pinpointed what it's causing just the fact that it's either windows or nvidias fault.

It's a "preview" update, which I see as microsoft beta testing to see if it will cause issues before pushing it to the masses.

I've bricked windows a few times now installing preview updates, I ain't touching that with a ten foot pole.

I see, I didn't enable any beta or preview stuff, it was just there. I installed it anyway and so far so good xD

    its probably the MPO issue
    https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157/

it does more than just cause flickers, it also causes freezes, display wake issues, etc.

you're more likely to brick windows with a non beta cumulative XD

Thanks much. Will try and report back in this reply as an edit. I still doubt that this will fix it.
