Wow, this Async DXVK version is WONDERFUL.
GTA IV has no stutters at all. Amazing stuff.

Yeah, that async functionality can do wonders :)

But we are kinda OT here

Is this the correct program? I can't quite get it to display what you have... fps I can see but nothing else like you have.

You have to add DXVK_HUD 1 as a environment variable to see the other information on screen.

damn, that`s REALLY COOL. I`ve played Sunset Overdrive without dxvk, had bad fps dips, then played with simple dxvk, first shader generation was horrible, but this, this is super effective.
UPD: I have rx5700 and ryzen 7 3800x. Fps in Heroes of the storm was bad a little, but with dxvk it was ok, tho stutters. I`ll try this now with hots, damn I`m happy

Having same error when watching Twitch, going full screen, it happens randomly after some time also.

I don't think I had these bugs with the older driver 20.12

    • Some drivers are unable to reset the D3D device in the GPU process sandbox
      Applied Workarounds: exit_on_context_lost

dynamic textures fail to work on AMD GPUs 1029855, 1050666
    Applied Workarounds: disable_nv12_dynamic_textures

Limit D3D11VideoDecoder to 11.0 due to crashes on AMD: 1012464
    Applied Workarounds: limit_d3d11_video_decoder_to_11_0

Send empty video hdr metadata due to crashes on AMD: 1045586
    Applied Workarounds: use_empty_video_hdr_metadata

Delayed copy NV12 causes crashes on GPU main thread when DXVA video decoder runs on another thread:
    983787
    Applied Workarounds: disable_delayed_copy_nv12

    • depth_stencil_blit_extra_copy (D3D workarounds) anglebug:1452: Disabled
Bug in some drivers triggers a TDR when using CopySubresourceRegion from a staging texture to a depth/stencil

Stalker randomly hitting a driver crash could be from all sorts of things particularly the modified engine code and updates even with fixes for D3D10 and D3D11 over the original engine functionality.
Web browser crashes due to hardware acceleration is why I keep it disabled it gets fixed and then breaks over and over for all sorts of reasons I can see from the issue tracker examples above this still holds true though the above appears heavily geared specifically towards video playback and even HDR going by that meta data issue.

I just found another bug in 21.1.1 and 21.2.1 drivers.

With the old 20.12.2 driver, I have around 1000 MHz GPU clock (because the utilization is around 20%) when I play "Black Mesa". It's enough to have smooth 75 fps in the game (vsync on).
But with the new drivers from this year - I have just 500 MHz GPU clock. The framerate drops to 20-30 fps at some moments - the reason for the stuttering I have.

I think there is something wrong with these new drivers. It's not normal for the driver to make the card drop the frequency so much when this frequency is not enough for the normal work. It causes stuttering.

The workaround is to increase the min. frequency in driver tuning. From 500 (default) to 800 or 1000 MHz.

Yes, and I didn't like it for Windows. "Black Mesa" is not so old game to use this kind of wrappers (like dgVoodoo). AMD should fix these too low GPU frequencies with the last 2 drivers. As I mentioned - everything was OK with 20.12.2 driver.

Black Mesa is running perfectly fine under DXVK, also you will have massive gains in some areas.

Just copy 32-bit libraries to "..\Black Mesa\bin\" folder and add this launch parameter to steam:

    -oldgameui

    Xen, 1440p, maxed out settings

We shouldn't rely on wrappers for proper gaming. Blame incompetent drivers and all is gonna shine on.

These AMD tweak threads put me right off, I'm sure many plug and play folks like me agree.
Just sayin, best regards out there!:)

Tinkering and tweaking is fun and can improve performance. Plug and play is for noobs and nvidia fans. :p

I just tried the game with DXVK and it's unplayable. So much stuttering and sound interruptions! I have many other workarounds that work much better (vsync off for example and I have 200 fps). I just reported that there is a bug in the last 2 drivers (20.12.2 is OK). Probably other games with low GPU workload are affected too.

DXVK cannot be a panacea for all bugs. ;)

Anyway, I already use one d3d9.dll wrapper for ReShade (for 3DLUTs color profiles).

This for example. Amd is fun. With nvidia card you barely can overclock the thing idk if you can even flash the bios. Thats silly.

Cmon guys, don't twist this thread into another "AMD x NV" BS.

We've been OT even with that DXVK discussion before
