Sorry to dig up the thread, but on my quest to play games that i missed over the years, Crysis 3 is next. But the stuttering is terrible, from 60fps goes to 25, up to 40 and so on Any fixes for this? Thanks
Fairly sure it used to work better in the past. I can't get good performance out of the game now either.
I haven't tried it since last year, but last I did it ran silky smooth. From everything I've read, seems to be an issue with AMD drivers. Most people with Nvidia hardware seem fine.
not sure if still currently a thing, but https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/jy84k7/radeon_rx_6800_major_problems_in_cryengine_games/
There is not many examples of good cryengine games. Crysis 3 will be a decade old, Homefront was broken from the start and i Crysis remaster is just wow. Thats why i mentioned the Hunt which according to DF runs better on amd hardware.
I installed this a wee while back with my 2070s thinking the card would rip right through the game but no, Crysis 3 is still quite demanding.
Quite demanding or poorly optimized..... I've thought about this through 3 pc upgrades since Crysis 3's release so far.
I imagine poorly optimized. Hey i went through a CRYSIS 2 run before the Crysis 3 attempt using a great mod, one that boosts the suit powers to ridiculous levels, like jumping 100m high and sprinting like a bloody Sonic.
Well, Crysis 3 is not on the newest version of CryEngine. It's on CryEngine 3... came out in 2013. There's been a LOT of changes to the engine since then, HUNT runs on a much newer build. PREY runs damn good. Big thing I've been told by people who've created stuff on it, it's not a very user friendly engine.
I replayed Crysis 3 last year and also had issues in a few scenarios where the GPU usage would inexplicably drop to around 30% just by standing still and looking in a particular direction. Consequently the FPS dropped to a cinematic FPS. Especially evident in the first level, on the ship outside.
Don't understand - Homefront,Ryse,Crysis 1-3,Hunt all run flawlessly on my system and some of you have much better specs? Could be system timer issues or on Nvidia use the ultra low latency setting as it seems to work a treat with some cryengine games.
Sorry no, works so bad on my 1070 aswell, i guess cryengine of that game doesn t work well on an i7 and new hardware
It s not demanding,it works good only on the hardware of that era, meaning 2009-2013, that version of cryengine doesn t run good on new hardware
