I am having problems with black screens of my card, and there are other users who also reported it.

We located that we have GPU bios 0.49 while the working cards got 0.45

I downloaded the 0.45 bios from techpoweredup.

I am trying to flash it with AMDvbFlash but it says that it cannot find an adapter when I am doing the CMD.

    AMDvbflash -i

    says cannot find adapter.

    please help someone.

I tried all different versions from ATIflash, from old to new. Same error message

I thing there is still no program for flashing bios that supports 6000 cards. So no flash for now.

Should we report this to techpowered up? Are they making the program?

Do you not fear to brick videocard?

Make an ubuntu linux bootable usb.
Use amdvbflash v4.69 in the "try ubuntu" mode.
You need 1024kb bios versions. This is mine from a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6800 XT (Silent Bios).
ALL BIOS you find right now on techpowerup are USELESS! They are only 512kb versions.
GPU-Z saving only 512kb versions. Only amdvbflash is capable to save the full size bios!

You need to be in Linux, only if you got a Sapphire Card are you able to flash this bios in Windows (same SSID).
At Linux you can have the SSID missmatch solved.

I managed to flash asrock rx 6900 xt bios to my card, but card still recognised as 6800 XT :(

Good luck. Use the readme file of amdvbflash to get it working :)

If you flash it with an 512kb bios of any msi bios (what you find on techpowerup), your card wont work. I know it, because I tried it!
For now you can flash it in Linux to my Sapphire cards bios, or there is an xfx 6800 XT version too on the another forum.
There is no uploaded msi bios yet.

Is there any advantage in doing this?
I would understand if you could raise voltage from 1.150mV to at least 1.200mV but that is not possible as far I know.

Did you not read OP? I get black screens with my bios version. Those who have 0.45 habe reported no problems while three other msi users also reported same problem at 0.49

    Have you tried contacting MSI.
I've had two cards in the past where makers supplied a corrected vbios and installer app.

The current downside as I think explained is that the existing utilities (Such as GPU-Z) saves a 512 KB bios file and the actual bios is a bit under 700 KB so you get a incomplete file.
There's that other software from Gigabyte's RGB suite that can grab the full data though I couldn't get it to run for testing it, I'm on a 6800 MSI reference though so it's not useful for flashing or anything I mostly do it as a backup procedure if I need a unmodified file especially if there's no dual-bios switch on the card.

EDIT: There's that bios utility stripped from the full software suite. :)

ATI Tool 3.15 and some discussion around it.
Alternatively the above utility from Github and using a boot disc might also get the correct bios info saved instead of a partial file that risks corrupting things if you flash one of these over the GPU's existing one.

In motherboard bios setting: Init diplay Adapter> integrated card (IGD)
    Reboot

Your card is still recognized as 6800 XT, but do you get the clock, power, and voltage limits of the 6900 XT?
I also flashed my card in Linux, but with a 512kB file. I'm now waiting for a USB EEPROM programmer to unbrick it.

Just for curiosity which MSI 6800XT do you own?
The reference AMD MSI branded 6800XT card or Gaming Trio?

I am asking as I have 6800XT reference card from XFX and I have problem that if my monitor (ASUS ROG Strix XG27WQ) is in Standby and I boot the computer than monitor does not wake up without me turning it off and on again.
I don't have any black screen when in Windows only if I boot PC without first turning off/on monitor if it was in Standby before.

That is why I wanted to understand if you are facing something similar or not.

You might want to check out my thread here to see how I got rid of my black screens with an MSI 6800 XT Gaming X Trio and further increased stability. It may help you.
