Noticed for a brief moment there was a new 2021 BETA bios for my Asus board, but when i refreshed the page it was gone

 

Pulled out having issues on some cpus.

 

87 c on all cores , just using first PBO max , few more BIOS updates , to sort things out my old 5800X was spot on for me

 

That's really fascinating how those cpu works, still experimenting with Curve Optimizer:
Managed to drop CPU EDC from 190A (Motherboard limit preset) to 130A (manual limit) and it improved the performances drastically in both multithread and singlethread computations.

 

What BIOS are you using , and setting please !!

 

Well...never found the 5800x or 5900x...but was able to snag a 5950x early Wednesday morning. Build complete...

Moving to AMD is one of the better moves I have made in quite awhile...

 

Using PBO limit set to Motherboard turns out to be counterproductive it seems: too much amps for CPU EDC?

I did flashback my ROG Strix B550-E Gaming again to 1602 yesterday which brings it to AGESA 1.1.9.0.

It will be a leap into the unknown for me ^^

 

Man, i forgot how nerve wracking it is to install a CPU... those little pins man!

 

little change , but the 210 210 140 , and no 50 , so 56 watts less / 209 vs 265 and temps 87 c vs 75 c !

My Peak Temp with Cinebench R20 is 82C, with a Noctua NH-D15 (single fan). Was 87-88C on default.

That's with a Negative -22 on all cores and PBO Limit disabled.

I could probably tweak individual cores now, i tried -25 all cores, but then it sometimes reboots the PC with no error.

 

Final tweak 195 195 125 -30 best balance ,st and mt plus temps / watts

Set for a few years

 

You cant be set for years. As soon first amd5/ddr5 arrives these systems will become absolete.

 

the big problem now will be all these speedy CPUs but no good(affordable and buyable) video cards.
