    Just tried it - worked. Thought it was AMD being sloppy again(still sloppy, but not nearly as bad) :)

    You can use Chill, and set min and max fps to the same value of where you want to cap. This would then work as FRTC.

    Yup, but now Chill is a lot better (less lag).
    If You set it right, then it should work fine.
    75/75 give You FRT NP.

    What will be the right Chill setting for my 75Hz monitor? Should I sett it 75 for min&max or must be few frames less?

    Idea is to set freesync range min/max.

    There IS a working frame limiter, and they even fixed it so it works on Vulkan and GL. FRTC is still there, just hidden in Radeon settings. They only made it visible for RX 6000 users so far, but my guess is AMD perfected their FRTC now so they will bring it back later.

    In the mean time, it still works! Here's an example .reg file you can write into Notepad, save and double-click.
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000]
    "3D_Refresh_Rate_Override_DEF"=dword:00000001
    "KMD_FRTCInitialStatus"=dword:00000001
    "KMD_FRTEnabled"=dword:00000001
    "KMD_MaxFrameRateRequested"=dword:00000078

    How to:
    You have to enable KMD_FRTEnabled as "1" in your AMD driver registry, this is in

    • HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000

    where "0000" is your 2D Driver Path (you can check in Radeon Settings in System tab.)

    and in KMD_MaxFrameRateRequested = your FPS value as 'Decimal'
    Works just fine.
    NOTE:You do have to restart game to see an effect.

    Final: If you do use MSI Afterburner it has 1 frame less lag in capping, but due to the GPU not really knowing, it can stutter, at least on certain games, IMHO, so the FRTC official cap is safer.

    Yup, i know it is working.
    But do note that there is some problems in some games
    e.g. BF1 & BFV do not like it at all ;)

    In old AMD-Catalyst-15.11.1Beta-Nov14 there is still an option tho....
    Yes i know, im using this for some additional Gamma settings and some more controll over the Video options :D

    How do you do it? I'd love to have the CCC panel as extra, too.

    Anyone else get weird stuttering when Freesync is enabled?

    It's like my GPU is completely out of sync with my monitor (LG 27GL850-B). The monitors on screen display will show a completely different Hz to what games are running at. For instance FC5 has terrible stutter, mostly visible when looking in the centre of the screen into the games distance. Environments seem to exhibit jitter/stutter. Happens in Insurgency Sandstorm, and Destroy All Human Remaster. These are what I have tested so far.

    As soon as I disable freesync via drivers and on the monitor it self (too make sure its disabled) all these games become instantly smooth. I've tried capping frame rate to just below my max refresh rate (142fps) to keep these games from going over the threshold but the stutter still persists.

    Also I have no variable refresh option in Windows also, using the latest 20H2 version and fully updated + clean installed.

    Not sure if its my monitor, a driver issue, or a windows issue. But for now for me disabling freesync completely fixes the issue for me. Kind of strange as my monitor is modern freesync panel with support for Freesync Premium.

    Anyone else get this issue? I have submitted a report bug for it via AMD driver panel and also a texture corruption issue for Insurgency Sandstorm (distant ground textures).

    1) Disable Game Mode and Fullscreen Optimizations
    2) Turn on V-Sync
    3) Try limiting to 130Hz
    4) If not using Exclusive Fullscreen, try that

    Could be one of these things or a combination...

    1) Already disabled game mode, disabling full screen optimisation doesn't help either
    2) tried using vsync also, it does help slightly but adds a ton of input lag
    3) I didn't try 130Hz/Fps but I did try 60fps and in Insurgency Sandstorm it felt horrendous and felt like 30fps!
    4) Tried Borderless Window mode and it doesn't work, is there a way to enable Exclusive Fullscreen for games that don't have an option for it?

    Cheers for the ideas bro, much appreciated.

    Had issues with a couple of games, so I know the feeling...)

    130 should feel like 144, so try that for sure. Just in case - min and max @ 130.
    Enhanced Sync and Radeon Sharpening OFF is set to ON.

    Thanks will try this out tomorrow I need an early night for work tomorrow :(

    I have already tried disabling all the settings in the driver panel, I currently have Radeon Sharpening (70%) as I like this feature and disabling it doesn't stop the jitter/stutter. I have enabled only:

    Image sharpening (70%)
    texture filtering (performance)
    suface format optimisation ON
    Tessellation Mode (AMD Optimised)
    10Bit Pixel Format ON (as my monitor is 10bit)

    everything else is either OFF, and/or use application settings.

    Enhanced Sync what is that? Is this AMD's version of Nvidia's fast sync?

    Also when you say "min max 130" are you saying use Chill to set min and max fps?

    Yup

    Mouse over the (?) next to Radeon Enhanced Sync and see what it does) In my case, it causes "fps dips" in DOTA 2.

    I'd also try to set everything to lowest in-game - to rule out anything on that end. Maybe it is an engine/game issue...

    Would also try setting Tesselation OFF or 2x in Radeon Settings.

    Contrary to the suggestion to turn VSync on, or use Enhanced Sync. Try disabling VSync in the driver settings, or setting it to use the application selected, and enable it in the game itself {rather than the driver options}.

    I also experience Freesync jutter in Zandronum and older OpenGL titles unless I don't force VSync via the Driver CP.

    -- Remember, long as the game's framerate is within the freesync range, you're not using VSync anyway.

    Sadly. I’m AMD Beta tester and I really wish Enhanced Sync would get fixed because ES+FS is the ultimate combo but we just aren’t getting any progress

    Turn off 10bit it’s NOT what you think it is will just cause issues also as said in my previous post don’t use Enhanced Sync it’s unreliable despite me wanting it fixed
