What does that mean "bronze sample"..... there are different tiers of the same cpu?

When you use CTR, after running the diagnostic mode, the program will give your CPU a rating on its quality based on how well it scales with voltage. Bronze samples are leaky chips that need more voltage compared to gold samples that can sustain lower voltages.

    @Webhiker

Do those settings you had me enable improve performance quite a bit? before in Cyberpunk I would be averaging about 43fps with this new cpu+mobo+mem combo, now radeon software is reporting 55.6fps, other than what you pointed me to with those settings in the bios the only other thing I have done today is uninstall the chipset driver + video card driver because I thought the system was acting a little funny after flashing the bios yesterday "video files were freezing randomly" then running ddu, then installing the chipset driver that comes on the cd for the motherboard instead of the newer one on amd's website, and the video card driver was same version as before... and.. yeah.. I can't figure it out, I'm not complaining that's for sure (◉Д◉)

I found both the F max and cppc using the search, but I too am wondering if the Resizable BAR thing will do anything for my 1660Ti ?

There I was, about to get the fast timings for my new 2x16gb sticks of RAM, load up Thaiphoon to read it, low and behold it's C-die which is apparently a thing now, don't I feel silly not keeping up with things, I started googling how you get the timings and if you can still use Ryzen Dram calculator but then my head started hurting, too much unsorted information and conjecture! Soooo if anyone has the same ram, namely:

    G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB DDR4 K2 32GVKC 3600 (2x16GB) C16, F4-3600C16D-32GVKC

Are there any suggested settings/timings for it?

I swear when I checked the b-die database it was supposed to be Samsung, just noticed now it's Hynix, I guess I went on the price in Amazon and because it was cheap didn't investigate it properly! Being Amazon I could simply return it if it's no good?

    Thanks everyone :)

    I would return them imo

look at the gskill trident z cl16 ,, may have to buy 2x 16gb kits as i think the 32gb kits are all c18 b-die

    What makes a memory module a "b-die" ?

Just being manufactured by Samsung or something else?

I don't really understand what it means to be honest.

If it works just hold on to it. Its a nice kit and do you really want to go rma process only becouse its not a b-die? It wont make any difeerence in your case.

Hynix CJR is more or less the new Bdie. As far as OC goes it's really close.

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I'll stick with them for now, money is a bit tight and these were 60EUR less than CL16, I plan to upgrade my PC at some point so will probably get faster RAM to go with a faster CPU and new Mobo :)

Show us some Hynix CJR performance with Ryzen 5 series in Aida64 memory benchmark :)

No one seems to be posting that around here at the moment and I don't really look at any other sites but back when CJR hit the marked a year or so ago there were a few posters here tweaking it and it was very close to as good as Bdie.

Did the memory and 1 cpu benchmarks in aida64.. just thought I'd share in case anyone wants to compare against it, everything here is stock settings.

Latency is high for a 3200 ram. Should be below 70ns.

It's 3600mhz but I'm running it right now at about 3200mhz as I had a crash so haven't really optimised any settings.

I haven't tweaked anything, it's just all default... I think I can lower the (tRC) timing from it's current 75 clocks down to 56.. in cpu-z it lists the xmp-3200 profile as having 56 for tRC, but with the profile that I select in the bios it sets it to 75.

Guess I'll have to test it.

I rebooted and set it to the proper detected XMR settings:

Quite the difference! This ram is only CL18

    Also:

    upload_2021-1-23_11-18-35.png

I had a crash yesterday when I was decrypting some files which didn't happen again when I lowered the speed so I need to do some testing, about to have lunch so will leave memtest running.
