Monitor won't go to 144hz please help

    Monitor won't go to 144hz only 120hz even in advanced desktop setting the highest it will allow me to go is 120hz I have a rx580 card not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    The monitor is XF24OH 144hz. not sure how to change the bit depth can you please explain.

    I have DVI-D hooked up at the moment.

    That's your problem. Get a display port cable.

    They should. Or you can just order one off newegg for less than 10 dollars.

    It doesn't on my Pixio 275H, I had to use display port to get the full advantages of it.

    Just get the Display Port then everything settle.

    HDMI had limitation if you buy wrong HDMI cable version.

    Only Look for HDMI cable’s if your gpu don’t have Display Port. If this is the case, then look for at least HDMI 2.0 cable.

    It depends on the GPU and Monitor combo, some monitors work better with DP than HDMI, others work better with DVI, also many GPUs don't support all combinations. So an older video card might easily limit you to 120 Hz over DVI connection and only support higher frequencies and resolutions with DP. OP would be best advised to check GPU and display specs before buying new cable.
