    ROG Strix 1080 OC
    ASUS Crosshair V Formula
    AMD FX-8350 @ 4.6
8GB 2133 DDR3 G.Skill RipJawsX - I Have another 4GB in a drawer I used to have installed but they have slightly different timings and started giving me BSODs even running them even at the lowest RAM speeds/timings matching the others, removed them and BSODs seems to stop, could try again I guess
ASUS ROG Strix 8GB 1080 OC
2x240GB Kingston SSDs in RAID0 (Main)
    2TB Seagate 7200 HDD (Storage)
    1000W RM1000 PSU

Juts wondering if there is anything that would make a worthwhile difference

Also I am currently stuck with a 22" 1080p ASUS LCD because mu QNIX2710LED died

For 1080p I'd keep it as is.

    Keep the gtx1080

It wont break a bank and still a massive upgrade you can probably do right now.

    Btw welcome back man.

Dunno if it helps or not but i replaced cpu, mobo and ram for my nephew just before Christmas, cost around £360 for b450 mobo, amd 3600 and 16gig 3200 ram.
Its better than my own rig with 6800k.
    Welcome back mate.

Thats a good build. I would keep it and make the most of it. What do you use it for?

Upgrade will be expensive because of
buying DDR4 rams and that might suck.

And please scroll trough "General Hardware" category and check for "Stuttering Systems". Theres plenty and I would personally avoid such.
    For example:
I will be making a whole topic about B550 systems.

Go with B550 , you have alot of options to upgrade , you can get CHEAPO 1600AF ( My friend has paired with 3060Ti , no CPU bottlenecks if you dont count older games).
Keep 1080 GPU as it is still decent option for 1080p.
    Get decent 3600 RAM. (2x8GB)
Later when you have money you can upgrade to 5800X CPU and any VGA you chose ( there will be more avaliable and cheaper in few months )

That cheapo 1600 AF suddenly increased the price.

This. The 1600AF was the best bang for your buck CPU ever for a short time, but you haven't been able to find one for the $85 MSRP since around May of this year. At this point a 3600 and B550 would be the way to go at the minimum.

or see if you can grab an i5 2500K, 2600K or 2700K for dirt cheap and over clock them to 4.5Ghz. You can reuse your ram. You may get them for under 100 bucks (mobo included) on Ebay and even after 11 years they still rock 1080 gaming.

Not the worst pc in the world for 1080 monitor. Are you having issues with the current setup ? Is it too slow for the intended work ?
If not just keep using it for as long as its running fast enough to be useable , keep saving and get new system when you can .

No it actually runs 3x 27" 1080p LCDs in surround fairly easily, solid 60 maxed out FH4, not the most demanding of games but will test a few more to come, I got these 3 x 27" 1080p for £20 each from Gumtree :D

I don't think that you " must " upgrade , as i said that pc will serve you for few more years .
But if you have the bug like most of us its not about what you need but what you WANT hahaha .

    +1

it seems to be about drivers these days. Some new CPUs got stuttering issues. High end Ryzen and i9 9th generation.

No need to spend 700gbp for PC on gaming if ull get smooth experience or average only on 1 game.

better to buy a 24 inch monitor for 700 than a PC. https://www.cclonline.com/product/b...amd-freesync-240hz-black-9h-lg9lb-qbe-236980/

    240hz

...who knows. depends how hardcore and how much time you actually spend on stuff. Not a big loss anyway since always to option to sell

Not sure it's worth spending £500 on a FHD TN panel... - how about this instead for under £200?

IPS, HDR, Fresync Pro... still high refresh rate (not as much as 240 of course)
