Thanks for this! Helped at least some on my 5.1 problems on Z card.
After installing 2020-07 Windows updates something happened and audio would come from center speaker only, 2.1 mode worked ok though...

Audio still cuts out sometimes like before. I'm using Dolby digital encoder and I have to go into options to change encoder to none and back to dolby to get audio.

Any better working cards out there with SPDIF IN and OUT connectors?

Hello, it seems that there is a new driver for the soundblaster z, but it seems more like a patch than a driver as such.

 

I am overseas now and can't check it - but this looks like exactly the patch we need for x570

 

Excellent. I came here, not expecting any headway yet. That SBZ patch to fix my x570 channel swapping is exactly what I wanted to see. Here's hoping that finally does the trick.

I tried the new drivers installed with windows update but after a couple of games in Apex Legends I had again the microphone bug. Reinstalled this modded drivers who where the only one who didn't gave me that bug.

 

You people should know that Creative Labs recently released a new drivers for Sound Blaster Z series:

Is this another one or the package from 6 nov 20?

 

I think Windows downloaded those for me yesterday, cuz i got triggered by my audio settings being reset.

Then i saw the windows update tray icon and it said it downloaded and installed CREATIVE - MEDIA - 6.0.102.74

The ones i had installed were 1.01.06.

 

Was the issue fixed thou? As I am still overseas and will return only closer to new year.

I havn't had issues with my ZxR ever.

I only ever had issues early Windows 10 days where the OS would switch to HDMI as my main audio device, but that was a Windows specific problem, and not Creative.

 

Audio channel swap issue related to newer mobos.

 

I see, i'm still on a Z87.

But i'm looking to move away from a PCI-E Soundcard.

I'm only using headphones (AKG K601) and been looking at reviews of the Sound BlasterX G6, which seems to be really good.

 

Never again I'm getting a PCI-E soundcard, ZxR is good, but it will be my last one before of all the above-mentioned problems.

However, I will use it till it dies. In the future, I will probably go for Sound Blaster X7 or a similar type of product that will be available on the market.
