the hype around it is just insane. most def a lot of people will call in sick for work, porn websites will see a big decline in views, i guess that's what this thing is all about.. leave everything and play till your eyes bleed. i feel like if it's gonna be THAT good as i expect it to be, i might break and play it on my current 1070gtx. my original plan is to wait like half a year and buy a new rig and enjoy CB after several patches.. but as we get close to December - the more videos i see.. might as well get a new 6800 and be done with it. decisions.

I am expecting patching will be needed quite a bit for this game. I will wait to purchase for a bit.

I also plan to stay with my Vega 64, for better or worse.

Hoping it offers all of what we expect.

I did this, received a CRG9 (C49RG9x UK) this week and its tremendous (2x 27" 1440p display next to each other with a curve).
Cant stress how good it is enough, great for productivity, gaming, HDR gaming ...
Ultrawide is so seductive for gaming lots of wow moments, and really useful for windows.
Its pre-calibrated, colours are lovely. This is coming from the Q9FN HDR2000 TV with superb colour volume, holds up to it admirably.
(the CRG9 and Q9FN are both centred in front of me in the living room for now, the CRG9 is below the TV so I get to view both at the same time)

My 1080ti still performs great with many games at native res 5120x1440.
For those games it cant quite manage, 3840x1080p (2x 27" 1080p) looks fantastic very close to native res and gives a lot higher performance.
    Its a true win/win display.

The only thing I wish for is a remote control to change settings so it can be done from my viewing position.

ps dont buy a refurb from Amazon, many are shipped with problems.

I'd like to know the fps target for those recommendations... but im gonna go ahead and guess that it's 60. And based upon the fact that they put the 2080s as equal to the 6800xt, im willing to bet that they are including the use of dlss in that recommendation. In other words, if you dont want to use the garbage upscaling that is dlss, then you will need roughly twice as much gpu power as they list here as an nvidia user. So native 4k 30 fps with a 2080, and 60 with a 3080/3090.

Ultra wide? Oof. I wouldn't recommend that at all. 1440p IPS is the sweet spot right now and will be for a while.

Wondered about that too. If I can decently play CP2077 with my 2080TI on 1440p ray traced, I'd be indeed quite happy.

I would definitely wait and see how the 2080ti plays before upgrading.

Perhaps the lack of cards could be a blessing in disguise to some 2080ti owners. :)

It'll be a doddle, with DLSS 2.0 you'll have no issues. Unless the game is a buggy mess.

It looks like that all their recommendations already include the use of dlss, otherwise it doesnt make any sense that they recommend 2080s or 6800xt for the same tier.

6800xt ray tracing performance seems to be on about the level of the 2080ti. Which is only a touch faster than the 2080S.

    A 2080S with DLSS2.0 will be a fair bit faster than a 6800xt
