We review ZEN3, the new Ryzen 5 5600X, 9 5900XT, and 5950XT. Released by AMD as a new architecture that will once again attack Intel, this round AMD places a substantial focus on your gaming performance. Overall, this processor series is to bring extensive single and multi-thread workload performance gains.

    Second!

Thanks for the review Hilbert, a pleasure to read (especially last page).

I guess I will go red with my next upgrade (probably 2021).

Like alot of us I imagine I've been waiting for this for awhile - these look good enough in gaming that I've finally been able to make the decision to buy and not "keep waiting"

I guess it's time to put together a CPU/MOBO/RAM combo over the next few days and pull that trigger - hopefully availability isn't too tough - these look really good

Don't be dummy. Our shops have currently "unlimited" availability on all introduced models. And since some of our shops show last XX purchased products, list if full of Zen3 CPUs.
(One particular shop has like 10 orders for Ryzen CPUs every minute now.)

I was not expecting results that good. The 5900X is 4c/8t less than the 3950X yet offers almost the same performance.

These models have 3 chiplets (including the IO die) right? Aren't some models like the 3800X supposed to have 2? Because if so, I sure am excited to see the results of those.

All "my stores" never went on availability or disappeared in 1 min. The store where i made the reservation got 2 units of the 5900x.

So yeah... paper launch for me.

    Nice review.

"We gave it away already in the very first lines of this review; the original ZEN design was bronze, ZEN2 silver, and ZEN3 truly is gold." - Agree. My sentiments as I was reading along.

Finally AMD has beaten Intel in most areas. This is when the true competition is starting. With Intel having Rocket Lake coming followed by Zen4 it will certainly be another good year for CPU's in 2021.

That means Your stores do not share global logistics centers. I shop with guys that use EU's warehouses. And supply there is just fine.

And I was F*ing tempted to buy when I saw those numbers in tests.

If you are wanting to build now I wouldn't wait as nothing radical will change with Rocket Lake. Sure Rocket Lake will likely be a bit faster on the 4-6 core parts but then Zen4 should leapfrog RL again. I also wouldn't wait if you need more than 8-cores because AMD should still beat Intel's Rocket Lake with the 12 and 16 core parts. I think now that we have proper competition waiting isn't a great idea just jump in the water when you need to upgrade. No major flaws in either sides CPU's.

Just bought one (5950X)... - limited to only one per client and there where 10+ in stock
The price was more or less in the MSRP limits = 880 euro...but that's what happens when you want something day one.
