I am quite impressed with how good the temps are on that cooler, while being nearly silent.... AND with a substantially higher power consumption vs the reference 3070. MSI did a great job with that cooling setup. :nerd:

Nice little bump over the 2080s my Xtrio can not arrive soon enough....Scan expect there delivery in at the end of November( was actually expected at the beginning according to the pre-order status page)

Received an email update from Scan on Monday ....im 165 in the cue , im assuming thats out of the 2000+ pre-orders they had received at the time of the update for all brands they are selling, there were also 29 outstanding pre-orders on Msi products spread across 3 variants of the 3070.

Scan update 4th Nov.....159th in cue

Yes, it is MUCH bettern than the other 3000 series MSI Gaming Trio products: actually they were disappointment, even the TUF cards were better. However, it changes with the 3070.

Looks like a great card, shame nobody can actually buy it anywhere.

I've been extremely please with the cooling of the 3090 gaming x trio. Looks like this card does indeed equal or outperform the 2080-ti across the board.
From the pricing i see in my stores, cards are mostly 150-250 euros beyond MSRP and dangerously close to 3080 MSRP which would make no sense.

Good News: It appears that our friends at NVIDIA are now actively going after the full demise of the once mighty $1,200+ RTX 2080ti. It was noted that the ($499 base) RTX 3070 is equipped with more (and faster) CUDA cores than the older 2080ti, and NVIDIA extensively now pushing the RTX 3070 as being faster than the 2080ti, at much more than half its original price. When averaged over a whole test suite at 1440p the RTX 3070 Founders Edition beat the RTX 2080ti. The RTX 3070 is capable of not just maxed-out 1440p gaming with RTX-on, but also 4K UHD gaming. This is very good news for the man on the street and with virtually no appreciable spendable income. Meaning my dream will finally come true and to actually owning a used 2080ti at bargain basement prices soon to come to this theater. $200 for a used 2080ti seems well within the ballpark and fully supports 'logical reasoning' given the latest and new generation RTX 3070 benchmarks and again its smashing low MSRP. But this spelling bad news for present RTX 2O80 series 'enthusiasts' now stuck with the unfortunate decision when to sell, upgrade and rush-in while the selling is still good? Meanwhile however I will be 'chucking along' on my hobbled-together ($250) Dell XPS 730x H2C. Still playing 2009 Wolfenstein. Just perhaps my used 2080ti train along with 'Metro Exodus' will arrive around early 2021 so that I can greet the Aurora crew at Novosibirsk station in maximum settings? Meanwhile my tech-friend Madhu confirmed that the used 1080/2080 series market is continuing in heating-up and noted that when I see him at the next computer show that cash is king just like in Mumbai. Used 1080 series cards will definitely sell like hotcakes. Well with hard earned cash in hand the Bangladesh boys may even throw-in a copy of Fallout 4 long on my list to own and even play.

This looks like a great card. Shame about the coil whine this generation - it reminds me of the Maxwell line. I've hoped that the less powerful 3070s would be spared, but apparently, no.

EDIT: 800$ in my country... ouch.

"$200 for a used 2080ti seems well within the ballpark"..... in 5 years maybe, 2070s still sell for over £400.

At least it was somehow available. Zen 3 is not available at all on a promised day. AMD didn't even ship it.

Scan have the 5900x available for pre-order as part of a bundle but im not sure the 32 gig of corsair vengeance 3200 ram is the best choice for the 5900x...perhaps they have a back log of slowewr ram to get rid of.

It's not shipped to most of the world. Even no little quantities.

As of memory. Corasir Vengeance 3200C16 is likely Hynix CJR. It's fine, but Micron (Crucial Ballistix) E-die clocks better. Both are much cheaper than Samsung B-die.

As of this morning my Scan order has gone from 159th in the cue to 147th.....thats 12 places in 1 week, from what i can tell from there website regardless of what card people have on preorder...if someone is next in line and there card has not be delivered to Scan then they will be offered someone elses card, if Scan are only completing 12 orders per week then this is gonna be a long long wait....we could well be on next gen before my Msi 3070 Xtrio arrives .

But less than a 2080s and 2080ti, the 3070 hsa a lower boost clk of 1.73 compared to 1.83 on this puppy.
