 So we need Tweaks - Yes ?

An amd driver developer stated on the Phoronix forums that smart access memory is just resizeable BAR support which is a feature of the PCIe 3.0 specification and which Linux has supported for years,
there is nothing stopping amd, nvidia or Intel from adding support for it on pretty much any modern hardware.

Smart Access Memory already works on Linux and is not exclusive to Zen 3 or Navi 2x

The RX 6800 is primarily quieter with UV

AMD already uses a standard voltage of 1.025 volts for the Radeon RX 6800, but there is still a lot of potential here too. Even with up to 0.9 volts, the test copy still runs without problems.
Unlike the larger model, the Radeon RX 6800 is only slowed down in a few games and then only slightly by the power consumption. Therefore, the clock in Doom Eternal only increases by 30 to 50 MHz, in some games not at all.
There is no performance boost, in the best case there is 2 percent more FPS, but mostly the frame rate remains the same.

There are changes in other measurements. With undervolting, the fans rotate 150 revolutions slower.
And even if the 1,550 revolutions do not quite come close to the very good level of the Radeon RX 6800 XT, this makes the smaller model audibly quieter and is much less noticeable when playing.
In one breath, the GPU temperature is 4 degrees cooler at 64 degrees, the junction temperature even 8 degrees Celsius. Undervolting also has an impact on power consumption.
This is reduced by a good 45 watts, the Radeon RX 6800 then only needs around 183 watts when gaming.

Totally is regarding money and whatnot. I feel that I might just hit the 6900xt for some extra retardation. Kind of like people buying 3090...

AMD & AIB Partners In Talks To Allow Radeon RX 6900 XT Custom Graphics Cards

The first report comes from HardwareLuxx who have stated that AMD is in early talks with its AIBs to allow custom Radeon RX 6900 XT graphics cards for the consumer segment.
The RX 6900 XT is the flagship "Big Navi" GPU offering and will be the fastest of the three graphics cards based on the Navi 21 GPU. However, during the announcement,
AMD only announced custom model availability for the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics cards.
The Radeon RX 6900 XT was excluded in terms of custom model availability by AMD during the unveil but that may change as AIBs and AMD are in talks to greenlight non-reference models for the flagship graphics card.

The AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT launches on 8th of December which is a few weeks after the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics cards.
This is mostly to allow enough quantities for the Big Navi "Navi 21 XTX" GPU to be made to supply a handful of gaming enthusiasts on launch.

AMD is in talks with partners about custom models of the Radeon RX 6900 XT. So far, there is just a MBA (made by AMD) planed,
but obviously partners are interested in offering own designs with custom coolers. pic.twitter.com/LTrWySzua4

Well yes but it's still ridiculous for the small gains. I have 5120*1440 so not quite 4k but it requires alot still. And seems AMD might deliver best in terms of raw power counting out rt.

AMD Radeon RX 6800 Graphics Card 3DMark Time Spy Benchmark

PJ also posted the first result of the Radeon RX 6800 running in 3DMark TimeSpy.
Here, the chip delivers a graphics score of 16,775 points and an overall score of 12,704 points. The GPU is said to feature a TGP of 250-280W which puts it up to 60W higher than the GeForce RTX 3070.

This bench was also carried out on the same Ryzen 5 3500X test platform and we don't know if these are final drivers or not so the end results might be even better.

Imo after reviewing everything again, the infinity cache, smart access memory is probably going to be a big advantage once AAA games from the next gen consoles come out. I think this secret sauce might bump performance up over nvidia over time( not quite at the beginning but over-time fine wine)
Still awaiting ray tracing and dlss, but if they get a dlss competitor going things are looking good, very good indeed. Nice little trick also with smart access memory to try and get people to buy from both ecosystems win-win for both amd(money wise) and customer(performance wise)... any thoughts on this?

I think you'll see a lot of it if we end up with Intel, AMD and Nvidia all producing their own CPU's and dGPU's in 5 years time.

I'm not convinced it'll necessarily be great for consumers.
