It only can do what can be done in registry.
It is for users that don't wanna hussle with manual reg. editing.

Options have also -whats this- feature.
Similar results can be achieved by Radeon Software Interface.

if i put VsyncControl_DEF on 3 to have "dynamic vsync" it works with the ingame vsync? or should i force vsync on amd drivers? because when i force vsync on amd panel it doesnt work.....

Hopefully one of you guru's can help me here. I am mentally and physically exhausted from work/life and not in the best way to deal with difficulty trying to install latest AMD drivers without having them take over my audio device. Its super bizarre. I had a R9 270 for ages that didn't seem to interfere, then an nvidia now I have an R9 290- this is an older asus motherboard so realtek doesnt even really support the audio. Its always been a hassle but I still made it work.

I guess I can just extract and manually install the radeon drivers. But I still see amd hd audio device even after uninstalling with DDU in safe mode etc. Its frustrating. Something is killing the audio endpoint or audio service. The only time I heard sound was last night when I started to uninstall amd catalyst suite or adrenaline now. I really want to play a little Baldurs Gate its been out for over 24 hours and I cant get my audio working at all and I dont know which amd drivers to install. I need some help please. Best practice, best 'slim' drivers etc Danke.

i use this tool developed by a fellow guru3d member to take the amd audio driver out of the install (https://github.com/GSDragoon/RadeonSoftwareSlimmer/releases). it will still install a microsoft audio driver though so what you have to do is disable the amd external events service (careful though ive read that this service is linked to freesync) and then can disable/unistall the audio driver in device manager and it wont reinstall it. hope that helps!

Thanks for doing this, i swear when i was doing my tweaks i was very experimentative and testing it a lot but not having clear blind data
But i remember i forgot i found something out by myself when playing with AnisoDegree etc...
You can actually set it up to like 128x or 256x AF filtering in driver!!! Im not sure if it works on Adrenalin 2020, but im about to try it.
    Basically it was like this:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000\UMD]
    "AnisoDegree_SET"=hex:30,20,32,20,34,20,38,20,31,36,20,33,32,20,36,34,20,31,32,\
    38,00

And then restart the driver and you can get over 16x - 32x, 64x and 128x, has to be double by the last size to work
I think Main3D can be tricked to do the same but there would be a performance penalty if you add too much.
Its interesting how Radeon registry is so friendly yet NVIDIA barely has anything to tweak :p Locked down.
I can't wait for RX 6000, i probably won't afford it until a month or two but i'll be so happy to get a smooth gaming card from Radeon again.

Also Main3D is apparently the amount of frames asked by the driver to the CPU to provide to the GPU, so it makes sense that setting it lower actually reduces CPU usage, not the prerendered frames, those are locked in-driver and can't be changed.

IMhO -> Aniso don't work that way, max is 16
All You can do (and it's working) is to add HQ AF by RegTweak

It does work, since there were games in OpenGL (like Serious Sam 1) that let you set 128x AF and in a DirectX9 Game L4D2 i tested it and it works, textures are way more sharp than they should be, but this does give room for tweaking too.

When I try to turn the DX9 performance tweak on, it just gives me an error message lately.
And yes, my driver is properly installed.

    Any ideas?

they removed the legacy toggle for this
However there is another DX9 tweak that OnnA himself posted years ago, BUT i can't guarantee it works.
It goes like this... .Reg file

Also i don't recommend editing Main3D anymore because this is how much frames the CPU will prepare in advance, it still will render 1 frame ahead (total) in games like CS:Go as driver preset is set this way.

Especially in some unoptimized games - you can get into trouble with lots of stutter, I had it @ 1080p i really do not recommend reg tweaks anymore for input lag, for graphics quality is another story, if you want less lag get a faster CPU to drive your Radeon, and ideally a new card.

I just leave it as default, all i do to my regedit is disable Shader Cache in "0000/UMD" = "ShaderCache"=hex:30,00
and i set VsyncControl_DEF to 34 (just out of habit.)

Alright cool, I'll keel the Reg Edit in mind.
Would be even better if OnnA could verify it still works.

By the way why are you disabling shader cache?
I turned it from auto to on hoping it would improve loading times and reduce gpu usage.

Work, work guys it's good for Us all.

    Now, for real:
Some tweaks working fine, some don't - it's all i know.
Im using Aniso HQ AF only + some Reg. unlockers.

    28.5->29K in 3Dmark :D

CSGO have in-driver AMD Tweaks AFAIK.
But first one should be better.

1FPS ahead from CPU, but also try "Main3D"=hex:32,00
