Im guessing you resold the 7 surplus cards you got for a profit, like the nice guy you are...

I ordered on launch day from 2 different retailers, and im still waiting at least another month before receiving either.

Think they haven't been a thing anyway, possibly just placeholder names for manufacturers.
They have Quadro and 3090 for people who actually need VRAM.

This is so confusing. I have no idea what to do.

Wait for a potential 20GB version?
Possibly buy AMD cards? Wait for AMD to saturate and go back to 3080?
    Get a regular 3080?
Wait for 4000 series since time is ticking and I do not want to buy old tech at premium prices?

At least I do not have a choice right now, so I cannot worry too much, because its impossible to get a hold of anything.

Saddens me to still read bad product releases from multi million dollar companies in 2020, they should have learned how to do a proper product release by now...

They don't even make sense. Realistically 8->16 on the 3070 just adds $100 to a card that's now only $100 away from a 3080. Who is going to buy that? 3080 10 -> 20 gives you zero performance but adds to the price.

Imagine these cards releasing, gets benchmarked, costs more than the 8/10GB variants and have zero improvement. Going to be embarrassing.

I think 20GB cards will come along with Ampere chips based on TSMC 7nm node next year. As of right now nVidia might think that RAM increase is a bit unjustified on the same 10nm++ chip, especially based on the Navi 2x performance projections.

As others said, they had enough issues as it is, no space for yet another model that hardly hits the shelves. Overall very disappointed by this series... I will likely end up holding on my 1080Ti even more now. My only hope are the TSMC 7nm models at this point.

It's kind of amusing that people are responding to the rumored cancel of a rumored card by saying they are going to wait for another rumored card lol

I first looked at the 3080 but got put right off with the extra 100w power consumption over my 2080.
Then i looked at the 3070ti as it should have less power consumption but that gets cancelled.

Now im like f**k it i dont care and will keep my gpu till summer next year and see what nvidia brings out then, this 30 series is such a joke

Well if they cancel the 3080 20gb then the 3090 would actually be a better value.

I'm glad I bought a 2080Ti when I did. Back when they dropped, most people called you an idiot for buying a 2080Ti on this forum. Years later, it's still pushing good frames and it cost me 500 bucks after selling my 1080Ti. Here's to all the idiots like me!

They already have ampere on TSMC 7nm for the datacenter market with the A100 since March, not like they're starting from scratch.

This is the first time i've ever seen Nvidia screw up a launch, to be honest. And i've been buying their cards since 2003.

I'm in the US if that wasn't clear and I got most from Newegg but got 1 from Nvidia and 3 from Amazon. I also decided to do a step up for a 3090 from a 1660 the week before it launched (ordered a 1660 on Amazon registered and was in the step up queue within 2 minutes of its launch)

The last card came from the evga queue this week for the 3080 xc3 and like I said I missed the 3080 FTW3 through that queue last week. I saw the email 6 hours after it was sent.

    I've gotten -

    3080 founders (Nvidia)
    3080 asus (Amazon)
    3080 xc3 (newegg day 1)
3080 xc3 ultra (evga queue this week)
    3090 asus oc (newegg)
    3090 asus oc (Amazon)
    3090 zotec (newegg)
3090 ftw3 ultra (step up from evga 1660)

There's been lots of ways and options to secure one of you're a even a bit dedicated and know how to think outside the box.

I will say the days of signing up for alerts from now in stock and getting a card within minutes of their email is gone.

You've got to atleast put in more work than that for sure.

I've seen their alerts go off about 1/20th of the times the other discords and such have been.

No 7 of my closest friends and family members who have little experience with this type of thing now have their cards or about to get them. I'm sending out the last one to my bud who moved 3 states away 2 years ago and my best friend will pick up his gpu and d15 and case (p500a) tomorrow and we will build his new rig.

I only take care of my own I can't help that I'm more willing to work for it over others.... I can tell you my friends REALLY appreciate it!
