If it turns out Navi is faster then the 3080 , it would have made no sense to do the paper launch by nvidia. people will cancel their pre-order since it will take a long time to get those gpu's delivered anyways.

I think Zen 3 really does help with FPS. But i guess we will have to await some benchmarks. to really know the difference.

Should be pretty much identical. A M.2 slot with an M key is basically just a PCIe x4 slot in a compact form factor.

They could have pulled of a 5900 5950 , but i really dont think its a mid range card they showed.

Doesn't AMD have an event planned for their GPUs on the 28th? I feel they will reveal another card that has something more tbh.

Surprised no mention of 8c/16t 5700x. They need something at a lower price point than the 5800x but more cores than 5600x.

-3% slower than stock 10900k with slow memory in Battlefield V. I hoped for +30% :(

I think what AMD showed here is all they have. There is no benefit to waiting at this point - if they had something more competitive it would benefit them more to show it now, stop people from going to the 3080. It's not like they are revealing prices anyway.

That being said I don't think the launch by Nvidia is paper. Left to be seen what the launch is honestly - the way Jens is talking about it, it would make him look really, really bad to investors if he's just straight up lying about supply but they are forecasting a massive increase in revenue.

Yeah Battlefield 5 and that other game had weird results. I guess those engines really suck and not really scale well. The rest had really great improvements.

Those 5Ghz rumors were off, 5800X confirmed on my radar now.

Also of course... Radeon 6000 confirmed trading blows with 3080

5600X + mobo gets more expensive than i5 10600k + equivalent mobo (as much as you can call the lack of PCIe4.0 equivalent). I was wondering for 3600 but decided to wait and see 5600 and looks I'm gonna stick with mine Ph II x4 965 a little longer till prices become more sane.

Well considering how things have been going the last weeks since the announcement , I'm gonna guess he is either badly informed or plain lying. lets hope he is badly informed.

The most crazy thing is you can slap it in the OLD B450 mobo , its the same is as i would replace 7600k with 10600k .....

Strange, because Frostbite engine is the best game engine in therm of scaling with hardware. Looks like it scaling very good with very low latency and high frequency. Must be all the physics in the game.

Bit disappointed about pricing, especially considering the 3600 (released at the same time as 3600X) was $199.
5600X is a whopping 50% more expensive than that, so in terms of value 3600 will probably come on top.

Hopefully they'll come out with a cheaper non-X version...

For current-gen games, yeah, I don't think we'll see much of a difference. I'm wary about getting anything Ryzen 5000 since I don't know how much more demanding next-gen games will be. In theory, a 3700X (not a typo) is the bare minimum you'd need for all next-gen games, but since console games are much more optimized, I'm not confident if even a 5800X is enough.
I am not expecting 12+ cores to be of any significant help for future games.

I would say it's rather naive to think otherwise. The price of the 3090 suggests Nvidia was well aware they had the best GPU. The price of the 3080 suggests AMD has something competitive, though, not necessarily faster.

Yeah I'm the most interested in the 5700X myself. I have a feeling that's going to be comprised of a pair of 4x4 clusters, instead of a 1x8 cluster like the 5800X. That leads me to this:
    I'm guessing the 5500X is a 3x3 cluster where the 5600X will be a 1x6 cluster.

Suddenly i don't feel so bad for getting my 3700x AMD is again pushing prices up with no competition this was to be expected. The original 1600 was what 180usd now the 5600 is 300usd I got my 3700x for about 356usd after tax. I'm not complaining as their value sadly still beats out Intel by quite a bit but if this keeps going they will become Intel we need competition.

have a 3950 and yesterday bought a 3900x for another build, think I will keep the 3950 for now unless used prices get very strong as am real happy with it, but as far as the GPU segment she showed if you look closely at the games I have struggled to find benches of 3080s at the same quality settings, if anyone can point some out that would be good as for teasers It would make sense to tease with the slowest GPU or at most the mid level otherwise she will nothing to show on the 28th
