They know 8core will be one to get this gen so it has a highest increase in price. Even though zen3 looks amazing thats the chip i was going for so i dont like that.

Yup a little too pricey for my taste (5800 and 5600). I think they are making a mistake gonna kill the momentum a bit. I'll wait next year when Intel will release their new cpus the price will drop ;)

I'll have to wait and see how the UK prices translate but in terms of performance it's about what was expected but at slightly lower clocks, that 5950x is going to be a beast for streamers and content makers who don't want the cost of a threadripper system.

If that GPU used was the medium one though its looking slightly ahead of the 3070 which would be huge for price wars for the masses

Its a huge mistake. I get TSMC is backed up with orders on top of two console launches this year that both use 7nm, but if anything they should have paper launched Zen3 rather than price it ABOVE Intel.

I don't think so but I know that's not going to stop people from speculating.

    Either way I'm buying a 5900x

Was anything mentioned about memory speed? I could have missed it.

don't confuse current price with day-1 price of the 3000 and 2000 series. They are almost the same.

I mean if it’s between a 3070 and 3080 in performance while having a compelling price what isn’t there to love.

Gotta be impressed with lower bandwidth memory still keeping it kinda close? I would think it is their top end XT model that was shown, but rumor is that there will be another XTX model that only AMD will release which will have more CUs, so that one still might take the performance crown.

Memory will be important, for sure.
Tuned memory could easily add another 5% over the already (slightly) winning over 10900K.

Do some PBO and TDP pushing, that could be yet another 5%.
Intel would need to overclock to 5.6 Ghz to catch up, which is basically impossible without Sub-zero cooling.

And we know the Navi is probably running on a 5950, so if you run a 3080 on that, you would even get higher performance.

Need to see RT performance and all that jazz but yeah I think it's a good product. They seem to be on a really solid track with Navi/Zen iterations.
I don't think it would be that much in the games they tested at 4K honestly.

I will wait for reviews to buy the memory and chose the 5800 or 5900... i dont need 12 cores, but if the 5800 is too pricy...

Another month of wait for the MB, case and psu i just bought ... lets hope i wont need that month of guarantee i lose now lol

Yeah in 4k that would not make a difference like Denial said. Im sure its not their top tier card.

I hope they have a good road map for 6 and 7k they are going to need it with Intel's capacity to crank out more +s on their 14nm.
