MSI scalping their own card with subsidiary "STARLIT PARTNER"?

News to me too. From googling a bit though it seems GN once forced G3D to take down an article they copy pasted from them. So now they have beef? Who knows.
Are we supposed to keep track of personal problems between tech sites?

 

My last rig had an MSi motherboard and MSi GTX1070. They are good and far from the only MSi purchases I've made.

It may not matter to their bottom line, but I won't be buying their stuff again either. There are plenty of other brands I trust that haven't blatantly ripped off their customer base in such an underhanded way. It was bad enough having to deal with scalpers and miners, but to have the company who supplies gamers their cards doing it too? Every company is looking to maximize profit but this? It's simply a bridge too far for me.

 

Something tells me MSI is involved with that decision. This started happening after Steve went after MSI in a hit piece. I do get a lot of MSI advertising on the forums.

G3D also post some very glowing reviews about MSI products and I don’t really remember any press about the crap VRM’s they were putting on the 4xx chipset boards from AMD.

Keep in mind G3D does not deal with the same MSI branch that seems to always cause these “errors”.

 

I would imagine certain retailers are doing exactly the same thing, especially those who have already charged the full amount for a 'pre-order'.

edit: guess that partner wanted more then they could cope lol, at least main MSI corp forced them to return the money back.

 

The company was subsidiary, OWNED by MSI not some independent partner. Starlit MD is the marketing director of MSI also!

 

An ebay shop called 'softpriced', they had the cards listed as 'buy now' or 'best offer', i put in an offer £140 less than the asking price and it was accepted.

 

I said the cards were being scalped very early on and now a card maker is scalping it's own cards?!?

Yeah, i am with you on this. personal problems should be personal. It should not affect technology and forums

 

Perhaps GN has banned guru3d reviews from being posted on his forums or some crap, rules are rules best stay out of it.
I know for ex. JayZ shouts out guru3d on his vids, that's just showing respect, this is something different and nothing to do with us.
