I filed a bug for this when you original reported it (https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/g...oad-and-discussion.433767/page-3#post-5819084) but QA was not able to reproduce it. Any additional information that you could share that might help them?

    Thanks.
My monitor is listed as certified, hence my anxiety.

Games that use PhysX like Batman Arkham Knight still experience performance issues with these drivers.

I'm not sure if driver changes can actually do anything to improve VRR experience, apart from fixing general bugs and overriding faulty EDIDs.

physx is never going to run properly with HAGS.

Or removing certain monitors from (internal) list of supported models.

Well, yes. Though that's just ticking one checkbox more as an obstacle.

Fortnite isn't even in the top ten, so it's a valid question. Seems you are the ignorant one. Now that's edgy.

Arkham Knight works fine with Hardware PhysX and maxed-out details (except motion blur disabled as I can't stand the effect) at 3840x2160 resolution for me on these 456.55 drivers. I have Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling disabled, though, so you might want to try that if you happen to have it enabled.

Update: Actually, I've tried it with HAGS enabled and have found no problems with Arkham Knight whatsoever either. Running nice and smooth for me.

    From lokkenjp
    Batman: Arkham Knight
An Unreal Engine Dx11 game. Maxed settings and all Gameworks options enabled (thus, heavily using nVidia PhysX engine).

    • Avg FPS: 86.25 / 85.53 / 85.68

    • Frametimes: Avg. 11.65 - Low 1% 19.58 - Low 0.1% 22.30
Batman: AK - driver 456.38 on W10 v2004 and HAGS On:

    • Avg FPS: 78.72 / 77.10 / 77.95

    • Frametimes: Avg. 12.82 - Low 1% 27.67 - Low 0.1% 31.95
Batman: AK - driver 456.55 on W10 v2004 and HAGS On:

    • Avg FPS: 77.94 / 78.00 / 77.79

Thanks for replying. I did some more testing and found one thing this bug has in common: DX9 API.

Setup: control panel global sharpening off, sharpening set to 100% (1.00 / 0.17 grain) in game profiles. Fullscreen/windowed/borderless makes no difference. Windows is pretty much vanilla 2004 19041.58, fullscreen optimizations untouched (on), disabling it doesn't change anything. Xbox Gamebar disabled in settings.
456.55 and beta GFE 3.20.5.48 (experimental features off).

Sharpening effect is not visible on GFE screenshots (ALT+F1): CSGO, Dota2 (DX9), Deus Ex: Human Revolution (DX9), Tales of Berseria, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines
Sharpening effect visible on GFE screenshots: Dota 2 (DX11/Vulkan), Witcher 3, Mafia Definitive Edition, Dying Light, Deus Ex: Human Revolution (DX11)

Even forcing a DX9 game to run with Vulkan via DXVK makes sharpening work as intended and show up on GFE screenshots, here's an example with Tales of Berseria: https://slow.pics/c/urLkcQk6
First pic taken on native DX9 with GFE and it captured pre-sharpened frame instead of sharpened one. Second pic, game runs on Vulkan via DXVK and GFE properly captures sharpening effect.

Another thing I noticed is that there's massive difference in control panel sharpening effect depending on the render API, I'll use Dota 2 as an example since it allows switching between different APIs.
Control panel sharpening quality, off vs dx9 vs dx11 vs vulkan: https://slow.pics/c/Y5K4L2dg / dx9 screenshot taken with ShareX because GFE captures bugged pre-sharpened frame (basically nosharpen one). DX9 applies very aggressive sharpening while DX11 is relatively mild and Vulkan is even milder than DX11 despite identical sharpen settings (100% strength).
Freestyle sharpening on the other hand produces pretty much identical effect no matter the API used: https://slow.pics/c/n9AaJ4FQ
This might be intended and not relevant to my issue but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

@Cave Waverider @enkoo1 For me on the latest drivers (I have a 3900X + 2080S + 32 Gigs of 3200 MHz RAM + NVMe SSD + 1440p G-Sync panel), Arkham Knight stutters like mad if I dare uncap the framerate much beyond 30 FPS with RTSS. Though, this has been an issue since forever and I got the same problem on both my last PC and my older gaming laptop. The game just doesn't seem to work correctly barring a 30 FPS RTSS cap (near constant stuttering otherwise) so I've just typically targeted either 30 w/ G-Sync or half-refresh v-sync on my old panel. To my recollection I had the same issue in Arkahm City and, in general, it just seems like Unreal Engine 4 is dogcrap for PC ports of open world games (I get the literal exact same behavior in The Outer Worlds -- near constant stuttering unless I cap to 30 fps, which is some bullcrap).

did you turn FSO off on these games?

Nope, I don't really use any gaming or telemetry "tweaks" so everything is on default aside from gamebar being turned off. I also ran dism/sfc prior to this just to be sure nothing is corrupted.
I tried disabling FSO but it made no difference on this particular bug, the only thing that fixes it is making the game use any render API other than DX9 so even something like dxvk works.
