Asus RTX can be crossflashed what I heard, you can use TUF BIOS on Strix or other way

If I will be getting RTX 3090 or 3080 then its Asus only, maybe EVGA but first I need to see reviews on EVGA

    Hope this helps

    Thanks, Jura

Gonna update this post making a list:

edit: some marketing shot might not represent the final product (found Asus rog strix pictures with 6 large capacitor while the product ended up with 6 smaller ones)

    From article https://www.techpowerup.com/272591/...ly-connected-to-aib-designed-capacitor-choice

    By increasing quality order:

POSCAPs : Conductive Polymer Tantalum Solid Capacitors
    SP-CAPs : Conductive Polymer-Aluminium-Electrolytic-Capacitors
MLCCs : Multilayer Ceramic Chip Capacitor (smaller group)

It's hard to differenciate POSCAPs from SP-CAPs in most the pictures here. I would assume they're all SP-CAPs in the shots below, but ZOTAC seems to have cards using 6 POSCAPs.

The image in the JayZ video of the 3080 tuf is at 8:31, perhaps they got it mixed up with strix?

The strix has confirmed 6 smaller version, added picture from derbauer teardown.

EVGA FTW3 models, the most expensive, do use the smaller version, while the XC3 has one out of 6 with smaller. I don't know what to make out of it really.

I made the same mistake buying a RTX 2080 at the launch.

NEVER buy a card from the first series.

Looking at the PCBs above, those FE cards are damn impressive waw!
    Especially for £650, just sayin'.
I know you can't buy them in reality.:):p

The MSI Gaming X Trio uses 4+2 as well, like the FE, so that one is fine.

Actually the MSI 3080 uses 5+1 and the 3090 4+2.

Also @kapu , Updated the picture for the TUF, it indeed also features the 6 smaller capacitors like the STRIX, at least the Asus tuf that Gamers Nexus tested was setup this way

Looks like Hilbert's 3080 TUF has six of the quality ones also.

Asus went all-in MLCCs, i assume that being the large tech firm that they are they could afford it.
Nvidia/EVGA/MSI went for a mix between one or 2 MLCCs alongside SP-CAPs, or full SP-CAPs (EVGA FTW3)
Some partner like ZOTAC seem to have gone full POSCAPs, at least on some of their model according to the article.

    Food for thoughts, employees numbers:
    Nvidia 13k employees
    Gigabyte 7k
    Asus 6k
    MSI 2k
    ZOTAC 500
    EVGA 300

The MSI 3080 uses 5 SP-CAPs and 1 MLCCs, which is the bare minimum Nvidia adviced in the schematics.

It should be just fine when not going for world records.

    Only their 3090 uses 4+2.
