I'd test it since I'd like to finish the game someday but the download is a b*tch (67GB).
But if you're really curious I could give it a go.

Edit: @angelgraves13 It works pretty well I'd say apart from a few hitches here and there. But it sure is torture on the GPU :) Temps went up quite high, worse than TimeSpy actually.

    @Turanis

Will the first level in Quake 2 RTX suffice? That pushes the card to the limit even more than Control. Sad to see clock speeds mostly around 1850-1875Mhz, but not due to temperature but due to power limit.

Below are stock settings except better fan curve and power limit increased to 102%.

I had to downclock my msi 3080 by -10 on the core to get it to stop CTD. I have a 30 day return period as I got mine on the launch date, so maybe they'll have them readily available in stock soon and I'm gonna go exchange mine out for a different version at Micro Center. I have until October 17th to do it.

Buildzoids breakdown of Zotac and MSI PCBs mentioned their poor design (esp the Zotac) and that they cheaped out in component selection. He says its one of the worst PCBs he was seen. This was before the crashing issues came to light.

Rip to anyone who bought Gigabyte, Zotac or MSI.

These Gpu launches are a rollercoaster.

I would report the problem and ask how long the return window is.
Might as well still have a 3080 until more are in stock.

So the Asus TUF, which has the lowest price around here, is the one who didn't cheap out on parts. Makes sense

    - Asus went overkill with 6 MLCCs.
    - Nvidia played safe with 4 SP-CAPs and 2 MLCCs.
    - MSI uses what Nvidia recommended in the bill of materials, 5 SP-CAPs and 1 MLCCs.
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    - EVGA and Gigabyte are gambling with 6 SP-CAPs.
    - Zotac cheaped out with 6 POSCAPs.

Everything above the line should be perfectly fine, the ones below could act up when boost goes too high.

It appears some of the Asus Tuf photos are not of the final.
The final uses small caps (light brown).

There are two versions, oc and none oc, Asus did cheap out on the none oc and went full in on the oc version.

How did they cheap out on the non OC version?

Is it not up to reference spec?
