https://mobile.twitter.com/XboxP3 "Microsoft is acquiring Bethesda Softworks and parent company ZeniMax Media for $7.5 billion" (Deathloop and GhostWire: Tokyo will still be timed PS5 exclusives.) What do you think of this?
Yeah at this point Bethesda are already as bad as they can be so i doubt MS could make this studio any worse, hell this could actually be a turning point for Bethesda in a good way........plus i won't say no to a Fallout NV sequal or even a 4k remaster.
It's a good acquisition for Microsoft, given the track record Bethesda has for games like Doom, Fallout and of course mmorpgs.
Realizing Microsoft now own Bethesda and Obsidian Entertainment..... Fallout New Vegas 2 Pleazzzzzzz...eee...
I think that's the most likely scenario - I don't think Spencer is keen to fully lock already established franchises behind console exclusivity. I can't see them denying PS5 owners ES6, for example - but making them wait 2-6 months? More likely IMO. Strange though - the next Bethesda release is a PS5 timed exclusive!
Well seeing i don't use the MS Store, nor the Bethesda Launcher, nothing changes for me. And i doubt the quality of their games will change.
MS has finally realized they need more 1st party games. Good move for XBOX platform. The only thing I'm afraid of is the MS Store exclusivity for some titles. Luckily, most recent MS games also have Steam releases, so not a big thing for PC users.
They should fire all developers atleast, they have no clue how to work with the creation engine, this has been proven since Skyrim. Hire the modding community who manages to fix all the bugs.
Bethesda Softworks, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks Alpha.
Why not full exclusives? Means more consoles sold but most importantly it means more subscriptions. Yes, they brought Zenimax
I guess everything will be MS Store exclusive in the future ^^ Good luck modding TES6 with the locked folder garbage.
Bethesda knew exactly what it was doing: They saved considerable amount of money from testing, debudding, and fixing stuff in general when modders did it for them for free. Not going to happen. MS's newest, the Flight Simulator 2020, also supports modding. It's not like MS wouldn't know what modding means for Elder Scrolls. In the first place modding is only a problem for competitive multiplayer games, where it equals cheating.
Balanced against less games sold and significant level of hatred from the console owners who are locked out.
I'm pretty sure I heard something recently about Bethesda not wanting a third-party to make dlc for their games ever again. Guess that will be Microsoft's call now.
MS "Hey Obsidian, do you want to make a FO New Vegas sequel?" OS " We can't, Bethesda own the rights" MS "Wait right here................" lol
well that is the end of elderscroll seeing sony system or any other platform other then MS or MS store. I will not get MS console or use the MS store Hopefull the Bethesda client/store will still be thing. But the exclusivity crap need to stop Steam for life, i am not have nor will i ever be on board with diffrent client/stores for each brand on the pc side of things
