Considering that you're on 1070, I'd say that you have close to 0 chances to see the scanner improved for you. Legacy scanner API (the only one supporting Pascals) is deprecated now and will not get any future updates from NV side. New OC scanner (NVAPI based) doesn't support Pascals at all at the moment and quite possible it will support RTX 20x0 and 30x0 series only forever.
You gotta read, i use +135 for artifact safe zone. Anyways, OCing a GPU is easy enough, just keep Heaven open and raise core until artifacts show up, then go 15 below that as your OC.
Yep wasn't expecting really any improvement. It's fine as it is today anyway, works enough to create a very conservative and safe baseline that can be adjusted manually. I'm going to upgrade soon but this 1070 will go into a secondary PC so would be nice to have it working with the new releases of AB.
I get this error when I try OC Scan on 1080TI... 01:27:36 Connected to MSI Afterburner control interface v2.3 01:27:37 GPU1 : VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_67963842&REV_A1&BUS_10&DEV_0&FN_0 01:27:37 Start scanning, please wait a few minutes 01:27:37 Scan failed with code 22h
It was repeated in multiple places (including this thread) that currently NVIDIA do not support Pascal GPUs in their new OC Scanner implementation. There are no comments from their side on any plans to support it in future.
So am I seeing any benefits of using this version with manual OC ? all those API help this 1080ti in any way ? or I can just stick to the good old working version ?
Download the beta here - https://www.guru3d.com/files-get/msi-afterburner-beta-download,37.html That has the new skins and updates
The animated fan on the Indigo Skin by Drerex Design has me captivated...now it's the only one that matters.
Thanks for the new beta! Love the new skins, wondering if it's a known issue with the performance graph stuff that doesn't seem to detach? No matter what skin I use the same thing happens when trying to detach the performance specs window, I just see a floating 'X' but nothing else. Hopefully this is a known problem with a fix incoming. I tried the OC scanner, but it was unstable in a few titles. Manual OC goes to 2055, sometimes 2040 in a few titles, +420 Mem overclock (MSI RTX3080 Ventus OC) - seems like a pretty good overclock, max temps never above 63C on air (Lian Li PC-011D case with 9 fans)
The answer for the floating x problem is to just mouse over it you'll get resize arrows, pull to resize. I've encountered this while switching skins.
Hi guys, can you confirm that for the moment the new oc scanner is not compatible with notebook gpu? I have a 2080 max-q and I get the error "scan failed with code 22h". Thank you!
