um, no, they bring about 110% boosts as expected in the cases where FP32 was actually a limit.

if you expected that for gaming loads, you have a problem in your head, it'll take a far more radical change to GPC's and the Pixel fillrate scaling to manage that.

Well, you can keep your 110% improvement (and do whatever you want with it ... e.g. stick it in the...rendering and compute only loads) and I will keep my 20 to 50 actual gaming improvements and laugh my **s off.

Always wait when competition is so close (in time at least), might or might not work.... but waiting 2 months wont hurt.... unless you need it right away.

 

So.... NV paper-launched the 3080.... FE were never in stock (some guys analysed the API in the NV shop).
All AIB cards gone in 5 Minutes. Internet is being flooded with memes now about the biggest paper launch ever.

I hope AMD will do a better launch.
I was able to snag a 3080 (obviously not FE card), but the confirmed delivery date is end of September.... Will have 30 days to play with it and if needed - return it.... We'll see what AMD will show next.

 

lol, you can't legitimately analyze compiled web code and be taken seriously.

 

LoL, but you CAN see in the API that 3080 was NEVER linked to an actual productID in the shop.... of course they removed the tweets with this analysis veeery quickly but I managed to capture it.

 

Well, they wanted to shot before AMD, and they did. Now lets wait how long it takes untill the paper launch is over and prices climb down near msrp.

I wont buy anything with less than 16gb (10-12 seems to low atm) so if nothing new goes that high, ill wait for next gen.
