It's a good thing their drivers can boost performance somewhat.

Rx6700 probably. Price it at 400$ and you have a decent contender to compete with 3070.

If AMD won't match even 3080 this gen - we have a problem again.

sadly they will not match 3080, we should to be happy if they can have same performance as 3070

What about that 7800pts result? That's a huge increase over the stock result. I doubt normal OC could produce such a huge number?

6900 XT will force nvidia to pull out a 3090 TI.

All other opinions and news are worthless.

People are acting like amd have only one sku. There will be many variants.

The 7800pt result in the screenshot is from a 2080-ti, presumably extremely overclocked? no clue.
There's a rtx2080 at 6000 pts below, so we're speaking 30% above at 4K, not shocking, might be a standard overclock then.

    No we Don't.

400$ dollar range is the price most people are willing to spend for a video card. For the 700$ segment there isn't a problem, the few people that want to spend money at that level do not really care about price, they want max performance and they get it anyway.

I disagree with that logic at every turn. Well, if that's not the case for you - just head for the 3090.

@Hilbert Hagedoorn in your view, how valid are the AOTS numbers for comparisons like that? Does it scale properly? I always thought it was more of a CPU/driver benchmark.

Classic fanboyism and e-peen, premium nvidia vs plebeian amd. We should really let AMD to unveil their gamma before we start drawing any conclusions.

AMD would have obviously known Nvidia will be able to beat its own products with the 3000 series. So, if AMD couldn't even clearly beat Nvidia's old product line with its new one, AMD wouldn't have ever spoken anything much about the RDNA2. They would just be released as affordable mainstream cards with little hype and exaggerations. Certainly no "revolutionise the 4k gaming" (or something) or aiming for the top once again lines like we got from AMD.

I find these leaks and rumours interesting, but I don't trust them any more than I'd trust silver water marketers during the Covid-19 situation.

Finally some common sense, I will wait and see Nvidia is pricing the 3k series low for a reason either they are going for a knockout to really nail AMD or they know what is on the Horizon, as Studios have had RDNA2 for a while to develop for consoles I would say the latter is the case

You weren't expecting competition for 3080 were you?
Many folks on net have been saying this, 3070 contender, nothing more.

Wtf? It was already "confirmed" to be 3080 performance and might even touch the 3090, so why would you say that I will barely touch the 3070? You know "low end" navi exists, right? Every segment needs a competitor

Where have folks been sayin it's anything more than a 3070?

AMD is super lame in marketing. maybe they have thought they can launch big navi before 3000 series.

Anyway, I think there will be two cards at the high-end(ish) range, both around the 3070 in terms of performance, but with 16 and 12GB of RAM
