Indeed... but i dont see them launching it so soon... will probably arrive next fall. But if it had launched at 1000 USD alongside the other 3000 series cards, i would have taken that 3080 ti.

 

That 3070ti is sweet for 1440p monitor I own. That's the only reasonable purchase for me at the moment. Can't wait. I'm drooling.

Well if it costs under 1k I'm pretty sure people will buy it. I myself am mostly scared of the 3090's price more than anything else. Screw power consumption, at least I know why I'd build a custom h2o loop besides bragging rights

 

I think people will buy the 3080ti even if it costs 1200 euros as it will be almost same performance as the 3090 at less price and even better temps and faster clocks

 

The 3080 it's in an akward spot right now in terms of memory.

Less VRAM compared to the 2080ti, barely more than a 2080, and half as much as the 3080ti.

It's already been commented around here that VRAM requirements are like going to be rising a lot in the next years, and now you have the 3070ti around the corner, which it seems to be not that much weaker, probably much cheaper, an comes with 16GB.

If the 3080 specs are confirmed that's a weird decision for sure.

 

I (also) find it odd that the 3070Ti would have much more graphical memory over the 3080.

Yeah but I think +/- 80% people can't pay more than $1k by RTX 3080 Ti.

 

I saw gpixel and gtexel info, just not ROPs.
I'm still sceptical though

 

Where is this coming from? Is this legit? That's literally the product i was looking forward to with this launch: a 1000-1300$ GPU max.

980-ti released 9 months after 980
1080-ti released 9 months after 1080
2080-ti released at same time as 2080

... ?


I have no doubt such a product is coming, but if it's in a year i'd rather spend 300-400$ more right now for a product that will last even longer.

 

You forget that 980ti and 1080ti were bang for buck and lasted much longer, matured better than 2080ti. So, I would gladly buy 3080ti instead of 3090. We have no obligation to bring smiles to Jensen and shareholders. If you cannot really wait to show your friends or your streaming channel that you got a 3090, it is much wiser to wait and purchase a 3080ti. Worst case scenario, that gpu isn't coming out and you wait for nothing, i don't know.

 

Debatable, 2080-ti has been the top-gpu with a comfortable margin for 2 full years, that something neither the 980-ti, nor the 1080-ti did achieve, far from it.

 

Well, you can play all games with 980ti and 1080ti even after years like they did from start. 2080ti will be kinda poor luck and disabled at RTX content, has no really strength for it. So its longevity is much smaller. Unless you have RT off, so yes I agree, 2080ti can stand alive for many years especially if you use DLSS. I was really comparing with all features enabled. That extra money vs 980ti/1080ti for RT, never worthed it, even 3070 destroys that 2080ti(with RT features enabled or new dlss). That never happened before with 980ti vs 1070 and 1080ti vs 2070.

 

THIS is the 2080Ti replacement I've been looking for...but still that damn 999$ price.

 

While I think it would be nice to see:

• There won’t be an NVIDIA RTX 3080 TI, or 3070 TI

• Big Navi as we know it now will compete with RTX 3080
• Big Navi as we know it post launch will get another model/unit from AMD to compete with the RTX 3090 (could be a while but I think AMD will try to target Ampere’s best with RDNA-2)

 

If only AMD could provide a two times bigger/better/faster gpu than the one installed in XSX/PS5.

Last time in previous consoles, XB1X gpu was something between rx580 and rx590 in power.
