It looks like a fully fledged driver package with a regular installer.
It could be forked off from a fairly old codebase (so it might not carry the latest features/profiles found in normal releases with older compilation date and version number), as it's often the case with developer preview drivers. But it could also be a true "bleeding edge" release with everything from the last regular driver, plus (potentially much) more.

 

Runs on Build 10.0.19041 as well, no errors (yet)

its got the latest vulkan code merged in, but who knows how old the main kernel code is.

Bugs:
Fan speed control bug was reported by too many users.

 

these wsl drives previously had crashes with vulkan games (not emus), like doom eternal, dota 2, w2nc, rdr2 vulkan exe.

Had anyone tested if these still have those issues?

 

they weren't using 1.2 at the time.

 

Tested in CEMU for about 2 hours using Vulkun and zero crashes, also tested in Doom Eternal for about 30 minutes and its fine.

What I have noticed though, I seem to have lost the ability to control the GPU fan??

MSI AB can't change it and neither can Argus Monitor (both used serpartly of course) temps are fine as my gpu is on an AIO and the fan is spinning but it seems to be locked at the default stock fan profile whereby the fan only kicks in when the GPU reaches 60C which it just about reaches 63C with this stock fan setting on my AIO otherwise I have a custom fan profile to keep it at around 55C.

This doesn't bother me but it may bother others who have normal GPU cooling, let me know if anyone else has this issue.

You use these drivers at your own risk, they are not intended for Gaming system use, they are not QA'd to the same degree as GRD or QRD drivers.

no, and neither does the insider windows.

 

Any sort of patch notes or we in the dark with these builds?

 

This driver fixed my Shadow of the Tomb Raider & HAGS problem ("DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG") reported here.
