Will you buy a 3000-series card?

Actually waiting to see what the other team will release (turn-based strategy gaming)

 

I'll wait for when they release ti or super cards and see what's best value. Unless CP2077 forces my hand

 

If they were released yesterday, in the hype, I would have purchased the 3080. Now a day later with time to think, I'm going to wait to see what AMD offers. I don't think they can match the 3090, but I don't need them to. If they can get close to 3080 performance with more ram I think they will have a winner on their hands.

At this point, even if AMD shits the bed, I'll wait for the rumored 20gb version of the 3080. With a calmer head, I can't justify 10gb of ram on a card that is going to play next-gen games in 4k.

 

3060 Super or 3070 Super

 

If the retail prices dont get bloated all out of proportion i`ll get at 3080, but if the 3070 is better than a 2080ti too i might just settle for that as either will be faster than my Msi 2080s Ventus OC.

 

Gonna wait till the Super or Ti versions are released maybe in the first quarter of next year.

As already mentioned before, this is a poll for those people that have decided to buy a 3000-series card and I personally feel the question is pretty clear but judging from some of the comments, maybe I should have asked the question differently, like "Will you buy a 3000-series GPU" and then added a number of options.

I'll first need to see AMD's response. Also 3060's level of performance, which might be enough for me, especially since 3070 doesn't even have more RAM. Although 3070 matching 2080 Ti is pretty crazy and the price isn't quite as bad as I was expecting, so who knows. I'm not in a hurry.

 

I agree with @ren008 , you upgrade for the game, not for the numbers, and right now there isn't any game out there that my 1070 8GB struggles with (unless Nvidia nerfs 10 & 20 series with driver update).

I think gameplay matters more than the graphics. I don't see any reason to spend $500 to $1500 to increase graphics quality by little bit and I don't see any reason or requirement for 10 & 20 series owners to upgrade at launch. I will wait till a game that I like comes out and requires upgrade, by then market would change too.

About 10GB vram, whats the big deal, it will still have extra system ram to cache low priority stuff. I with 6GB have total 14GB video shared ram

Quake champions is the worst system ram hungry thing atm and with that 6GB vram maxed and it used up to 13-14GB system ram, and it didnt out of vram stutter, that said add that IO storage boost and it doesnt matter if its 10 or 20GB, not until RTX5000 series comes, when those 10GB will be like old 1GB vs 4GB

 

You are all cry-babes. I suggest try the golden rule to own twice ram of vram or just add 8 gb more and you will play smoothly. Anyone crying for 8-10gb vram usually owns a PC with mere ~8-16gb ram. Try upgrading to ~18-20gb+ and everything will be more than OK. You see? Problems are solved.

 

Not atm. I'm mostly playing RPG's, strategy and seldom FPS. So my 2070S is good enough for my 3440x1440@100hz monitor atm.
If BF6 is amazing and i can't do over medium, i will go for a 3070 but will wait for the super/ti with more vram.

 

Going for the 3080 on release date. I haven't touched my gaming rig since 2013. SEVEN whole years. Revamping the rig for this card and mostly because I'm a sim guy (racing simulator and flight simulator) and FS 2020 is kicking my machine's butt.

Poor Intel Core-i7 3820. Only thing "relatively" newer on it is a GTX 1070 because my old Radeon in it died a few years back. Priced out a whole build for around $2,300. From what I've gathered the new 12-pin connector should be a non-issue with whatever power supply I pick given the cards are coming with adapters for 8-->12 pin correct?

Anyways, Ryzen 9 3800X with this card and 32GB RAM I'm just holding on purchasing the rest of the build until I can guarantee myself an allocation of the 3080.

 

RTX 3080 FE or variant with more VRAM. Can't justify paying double for RTX 3090. If RTX 3080 had more VRAM than 10 GB it would be certain buy. It's probably fine till RTX 4000 series though.

 

3080 probably.

The 1080TI still kicks ass and i'm not gaming that much or play new games, though CP2077 is highly anticipated here.
