Going for value or just the best nVidia has to offer?

EDIT : By popular demand I've change the title and added more options though I cannot edit the poll title and first three options but I'm sure you'll cope.

Love me a FE 3080, or nice Gigabyte to go with mobo.
Not looking for uber OCed version as trying to keep power down.
I'd be happy with 3070 too, the hell we gonna do with 8k cores?

Your poll is missing the - none option.

Considering holding out for a hopefull 20GB model of the 3080, but if not i'm going to sell a kidney and go for the 3090 even if it's marked up to 1940USD here in norway. Still got a few weeks to dwell on it. If the 3080 was released with 20GB i would jump on that the second it's released, but feel that 10GB might hurt me 2-3 years down the road.

I can see my holding onto mine around one and a half years (10gb 3080), hoping RT hits the mod scene big-time and i'd like to get into VR.

The poll was meant for those wanting to buy a card. If the question was "Will you buy a 3000-series card" then a "No" option would have been required as you say.

I want the 3080 FE. The price is right and the card has very nice aesthetics.

  9. None from current lineup...

I'd buy 3090 with 12GBs of VRAM or bigger 3070, likely some GA104-400/GA104-450.

Honestly, this time around I don't know what to do. If to buy a card, what to get... can't get over it right now.

Won't buy any right now, and will instead wait for what AMD has to offer later on this year. Most likely the best choice for down-the-road will be the Super/Ti versions, as 3090 is a Titan card.

To answer your question - from the current lineup, I would go for 3080, as it will be the best choice for 1440p gaming.

Don't burn the cash and wait. Your GPU can handle anything right now. Wait for AMD to make a response.

I doubt they will match the 3090 performance, but 3080 for sure - this should cause Nvidia to release Super lined, or the Ti series.

I am kinda torn between 3070 and 80. I will wait for the benchmarks to see how the 3070 holds against the 2080Ti.

None. Was getting myself excited for the 3070 and even had me thinking of doing a total rebuild until I realized only 8GB Vram. Not nearly enough for 2020 and beyond IMO, especially with next gen consoles coming out with 16GB unified.

Also tbh, no games coming out besides Cyberpunk that are interesting to me lately and not spending that much for one game.

  14. Waiting to see if Big Navi is bigger... :p;):)

Wish i could go for a 3090 but i don't want to set up a credit for a thing that will be replaced on a year or two at max, so 3080 as usual for me i always go for the x80 ones, they are the sweet point of price and top performance.

Well sure I'm in no need to upgrade... but I figured I'd gift myself a whole new rig around the end of the year. Waiting for Ryzen 4K CPUs to hit the shelves, but damn... can't lie, out of the options I would flirt with the 3090, but that price tag's 50% above what I paid for my 2080Ti. That's quite something to get over. Also, I don't really think that's all there is, waiting for 3080Ti sometime down the road... but damn, the cost of that GPU.
Sure, the 3090 is a beast, and probably will do fine for years since it's got beef en masse, but with their changing their lineup like that, it only makes me as a customer less sure that they even gave us the lineup, but only a cut down thing with nothing in between, trying to make people take the leap for the 3090 when in reality they want a hypothetical 3080Ti.

My CPU doesn't even have an iGPU, and no gaming? Noooooooo :D
