This is why I use Start10. I hate the new Start, and how it's organized. You wind up using the type entry bar to find anything. I also use Fences to make drop-down menus, in 4 sub categories. This allows me to keep a clean desktop and find crap fast.

Wake me up when new WHQL arrives :p

    Note:
    1. WHQL is more stable in terms of OC vs Voltage.... (i can always use the same settings in OverdriveN Tool BTW).
    2. Forza games likes WHQL.
    3. 3Dmark shows Valid score.
    4. ATI WHQL is really an WHQL :D (look at p.1)

Betas have optimizations for newer games.
3dmark can have actually higher score on newer drivers and also show valid score.
Overclocking is just about the same.

that's unplayable w/o any gameplay mod. (whlist 2018 had been a 'crash' festival) Plus....full-screen doesn't work on 16:10 displays (in fact, the game still launches in 16:9 w/ black borders to fill-in the gap :meh: so I had to play it in windowed mode)
better developing job >>> editor/publisher cashflow, with the formers NOT bowing to the latters, full stop.

What is your junction temperature for the GPU and the temperature for the VRAM? What are your clocks and voltage set to in Wattman?

I'm not sure if I'm alone here but with F1 2018 , F1 2020 and PCars 3 I could be playing perfectly fine and suddenly if I exit the pits , start a race or do a rewind in the F1 games the game will suddenly slow down to 4 FPS and the same happens with PCars 3. Suddenly the game will slow down to 4FPS. Looking at the statistics on my GPU the GPU downclocks itself even though it doesn't go above 65c. I tried increasing the fan speed when for when the GPU goes above 50C and that worked for a few days but that no longer works. The only way to get back to normal FPS is to exit the game and reboot windows.

I have game mode in windows disabled. I have the metrics overlay in the AMD driver disabled and I have the Steam overlay disabled. My cpu never goes above 45c when gaming and I don't have anything overclocked. I've tried downclocking the GPU from its default 2230MHz to 1900MHx and undervolted slightly.

    My CPU is a R5 2600
    XFX RX5700XT Thicc III Ultra
    DDR4 3200MHZ ram with XMP2.0 set to 3200MHz

I'm asking in this driver thread because it might be a driver issue and I'm hoping its not my computer. I'm going to put my GTX1070 back into my computer and test with that GPU.

I was under the impression that this driver release was WHQL.
A visit to AMD site reveals 20.4.2 are the only WHQL drivers atm.
Not going to attempt to upgrade with 20.9.1 . Only use WHQL ever.

The "Recommended" AMD drivers are WHQL. However, there are often other WHQL drivers released after the recommended drivers. For some reason it takes time for AMD to update its recomended drivers. Therefore just go and pick the latest WHQL if you actually need one.

I want stability in my gaming on Win 10. Looking up the listing for my card reveals on 20.4.2 WHQL.
So that's what I stick with.

Do whatever you like. However this is wrong:

They are the latest recommended drivers, not the latest WHQL drivers.

    RX Vega, Yes.
    NOT for RX 5700 XT
    20.9.1 irrelevant in this case.

Dxdiag says WHQL logo'd but GPU-Z says otherwise, do not spread misinformation. If not both dxdiag and gpuz say whql, I trust nothing. Also AMD website should give them as recommended to be real WHQL. Conclusion? 20.9.1 is beta driver classified correctly as optional.

gpu-z has no legitimate way of determining what is and isn't whql.

if dxdiag says it is, it is.
