Are you ready for a long walk? Finally moved from console to PC, We look at Death Stranding 2020 in a PC graphics performance and PC gamer way. We'll test the game on the PC platform relative to grap...

Death Stranding: PC graphics benchmark perf analysis review

    Update notes:

    1. We just updated the Series Radeon series 5000 GPU results and examined it with the new Radeon 20.7.2 driver that AMD released moments ago. There are significant performance increases measures with this driver and this series of graphics cards, in particular, thus it is highly recommended to update to this new driver.
    2. We checked the Polaris GPUS, e.g. 590 with the new driver, there are no additional performance gains for that series.
    3. The Ultra HD page was showing a wrong chart after the Radeon driver update, this is fixed.
    4. Added image comparison AMD Fidelity FX CAS OFF/ON.
    5. Added image comparison NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 TAA vs DLSS Quality and performance modes
    6. Retested 5500 XT 4GB, card remains stutter but much better scores with new 20.7.2 driver.
    7. Added GeForce GTX 970, GeForce GTX 980 Ti, Radeon R9 Fury, and Radeon R9 390X based on reader requests.

That 4Gb RX 5500 XT certainly made itself conspicuous, in a poor way. Even the RX 470 caused it to look shabby.

It would have been interesting to see where the 8Gb 5500 XT would have landed. Maybe not...

Meanwhile Dansgaming from Twitch streaming this game with a 20k PC with 2080ti and had to activate DLSS to get smooth 60 fps on 1440k...

Why was the gtx 970 removed from benchmarks, it was a card many ppl had and many ppl still have. Instead we have radeon 470 etc, which is similar in performance, but not so many ppl have it compared to gtx 970. This is a thing for a long time, I just decided to comment on it now... thanks :)

He has a $20,000 PC and it only has 1 2080Ti?

    @Hilbert Hagedoorn

Any chance we can get some CAS/DLSS comparison shots?

D00d, you're killing me. That card was released in 2014, mate ... it's 2020. Of course, everybody has a personal preference to his to her card, but I can't do them all and need to make choices as I do want to have a life (read a few hours free per day) as well :)

Perhaps tomorrow I'll add some 900 series cards if I can find the time okay ?

What about the 5500 XT (8GB), did you test this, and is there any difference to the 4GB variant?

Haha you are right, but if it works, why change it :) Its still good for 1080p/60fps gaming. But I absolutely understand its getting vintage. Did not realize rx 470 is 2 years more recent that gtx 970. Damn... Still, it might be fun to see how the old 970 fares, it will be a good score.

hilbert need a clone of him self, I remember when I use to keep asking why my i7 920 was no longer on benchs and my gpu's, I tend to hold on to my cpu almost as long as my gpu's, while it nice to have the old benchmarks I dont see him wanting to keep doing them for tech older then 5 years, I mean shortly after I got my 6700k maybe year or 2 after I got it which was year old by time I bought it I started to stop seeing 6700k benchs vs new cpus.

I wonder how my now "ancient" Fury will perform, if it's VRAM will seriously limit it.... Shame the game is rather expensive :(

Nice my good ole GTX 1070 still pulling 72FPS at 2k. The 1070 has been a really great 2K gaming card.
