    Support For
    • Windows® May 2020 Update
      • AMD is excited to provide beta support for Microsoft’s Graphics Hardware Scheduling feature. By moving scheduling responsibilities from software into hardware, this feature has the potential to improve GPU responsiveness and to allow additional innovation in GPU workload management in the future. This feature is available on Radeon RX 5600 and Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products.

RTG is a small indie company.

There's also a bigger difference between GCN and RDNA, than there is between Pascal and Turing.... What works for Turing, should work for Pascal as well. The same can't be said of RDNA and GCN.....

ffs, the HAGS support is still in development, and since you are addressing the hardware controller directly, you now need to code the driver to each specific hardware configuration. This will take time. AMD probably wouldn't have released it this early if it wasn't for NVIDIA launching their beta support to the public.

If this isn't happening fast enough for you, go buy a Green card.

HAGS is not coming to VEGA.

Why do you think? I can't see any reason why other GCN cards should lack support for that with almost the same HW scheduler used.

Seems like a hardware block if that's the case or what I would hope is not just AMD prioritizing or supporting only RDNA, anything alleviating that CPU limit would be a really useful feature but unless it is hardware based the decision seems like a poor one even if support and implementation could take a bit more time to implement for these GPU's interesting to know though if that's indeed how it's going to be.

EDIT: Although going by the NVIDIA community representatives post on the matter it sounded like implementing it on earlier hardware would be possible just that scaling and gains would be less and thus probably next to nothing at least for this first go at utilizing this feature.

But that might just be to not immediately dismiss earlier but still popular graphics cards and there are differences to how AMD and NVIDIA does things.

EDIT: It's not going to do AMD any favors with customers either and what they'll upgrade to next on top of the ongoing driver issues as well.

We'll see I suppose, once this lands in one of the main driver releases and how it goes from there but that is interesting to hear about a possible skip for the GCN hardware for having this feature supported.

Gcn is not radeon. Rdna is. Gcn stands for genuinely called newbie. We are all victims of fine wine propaganda. Now red rebellion stands for the fsmous green growth. Tons of users are switching to green, month by month, year by year. See now all those Vega and polaris users abandoned for what exactly? Keep supporting.

There are hardly any software engineers left that worked on GCN at AMD and you expect them to trust themselves to implement HAGS for it? XD

Vega doesn't have a refined enough warp dispatcher to even make it worth it.

Troll post is stupid, and let's not do anymore of that.

Also AMD is still giving support for Polaris and Vega, and still doing driver optimizations.

As far as I know Vega and Polaris refresh are newer than gtx 1000 series. OK. I was using bad humor there. It wasn't a serious post at all. :D

Thanks for the honor. Don't get sentimental and obsessed fan of any brand or loyalty. Keep your dignity. I was just using a negative attitude. :p

Quite contrary to your belief, many long term PC users and professionals here (You excluded) are fed with direction of pricing nVidia did set and claim that they can as well get much better gaming value from Gaming Consoles powered by very same AMD from which you claim people are jumping ship.

Nobody ever sold 1080/2070 or 2070S to get a 5700/XT. Neither sold 1080TI/2080 or 2080S to buy Vega 64/VII. I have seen quite the opposite scenario all the time. That tells everything. Truth unfold.

Why did not you post this to threads with future price speculations of next generation of green cards? And why do you have to make flame inciting posts in AMD's section?
Do you think that flaming here changes anything on reality of AMD's products?
