Disabling low latency mode in NVCP while HAGS is enabled for in Mafia III and the few seconds of stuttering when alt tabbing with WoW Classic does remove the stuttering.
So maybe the case for other games as well where people have seen stuttering after updating to 45x drivers on 2004 and set their preferred options for each game.

it seems u re right ! I have exactly the same problem.
with 451.48 we must disable RT in COD MW to have a proper game.
(RT works like a charm with 446.14 in this game , hope Nvidia will fix it soon)

Something completely different running games with FSO or in borderless. Running games in borderless means that they wont run in flip model unless they're dx12 which hurts performance. Just having FSO on doesnt make it magically borderless. This mental gymnastics is annoying me really.

LOOK LOOK IT SAYS IT RIGHT HERE!!!111 ..... xD

Low latency mode is off, since dx12 doesn't use it.

I set power management mode to Max performance and the hitches dont occur as frequently.

This driver runs MHW really well on a 980ti at 1440p

    use 451.22

There is no hotfix planned, the next driver is scheduled for mid july.

Bummer, these seemd OK on Windows 7, but on Windows 10 LTSC 1809:

Application popup: Windows - Display Driver Recovered From Failure : Exception Processing Message 0x401b00ec - Unexpected parameters

Thats an application notification that believes the driver has failed and recovered.

Windows logs TDR's under the "Display" source as a warning, not as an application popup,
Driver metadata might also be logged as an Error with "nvlddmkm" as the source

In Windows 10, disable FSO for the executables and the game will run in Exclusive Fullscreen mode. Now you can properly match performance with Win 7 FS.

Whatever it is, it made Firefox go blank/white, just like a TDR did when I had them. All it means to me is, "Driver bad! Roll back!" ;)

I've done that, but didn't see any improvement above +/- 2 FPS margin of error stuff. Windows 7 is just lighter and beats Windows 10 up in performance of every single kind I can think of. Faster boot (if not cheating with Fast Boot, IE never really shut down), snappier desktop, faster program loading, Large file transfers to USB external drive move at 140+ MB/s, vs 94 MB/s on W10, etc., etc. Of course it lacks a few things too, like DirectX 12, which in theory though, would only make it beat up Windows 10 even more if it had it. And of course as time goes on, more and more things will just stop working properly on 7, sadly.

Theres a gpu process crash being tracked in Firefox last i looked, but it was for older drivers.

Patience. Don't forget that due to the current global situation, lots of things are getting delayed.

Yes, the 1060. I'm not concerned about it though. I just went back to the last 'good' driver. I'm running LTSC 1809, so not worried about the new features in 2004 and 451.48.

I've noticed an issue where if the game uses all of my GPU (99-100%), the stream I have open on my secondary monitor starts to freeze and becomes choppy when HAGS is on, as if Chrome did not get enough resources to run it. It happens whether chrome hardware acceleration is on or off. However, when I disable HAGS, even at 100% GPU, Chrome can still play videos fine (both with hardware acceleration on or off).

This is on a RTX 2080.
