Though I've lost most of my golden oldies but thanks to GOG shouldn't be too hard (or expensive) to get them back.

Are you running it with DOSBox or how does it work?

I doubt you're dual booting to MS-DOS

^^The horrble time consuming days of making and using dual booting between W98/ME/XP are long gone as thankfully Dosbox and GOG have us covered, and i won't go back, and no one can make me........but yeah works fine with dosbox, but on some games like the GOG version of Wing commander they don't come with the setup.exe that would allow you to config sound as you install the game, so on the GOG version you just open the config file and change sound settings manually......so in case you need them here is what you need to change......

Install game, open up the DosboxWC file(note pad will do), and scroll down and change the midiconfig= line to read as midiconfig=1, and save......now open up the CRUSADE file again with note pad, should in above DosboxWC, and change the one line in that to read v r z, you have now set the game to run on the MT-32....now start up MUNT, go to options, configure roms, and add both, if you look around YT at peole using and installing MUNT you will find most people have links to the rom, they are really small.....then start WC and away you go, and you can usually use those setting on almost all Dosbox GOG games that support the MT-32.

Oh and if you want to tweak the game to look even better i suggest going back into the DosboxWC file and changing two line to look like this...
output=opengl (gives the game pixels a softer look)
aspect=true (stop the game stretching to fill the screen and and looking horrible, as it looks way better in its true 4:3 aspect.
cycles=3000 (i found this the perfect speed for the game to run and play correctly as intended without causing game breaking issues.

Did any of you play Perfect Dark on the N64?

I would love a remaster of that with a current year game engine... that was such a fun game.

 

I think enough time has passed to do a remaster of the original Dead Space - Dead Space 2 still looks okay!

Imagine the catacombs with modern graphics... YIKES!

 

Battlefield 2 (or Battlefield 1942). -- The series has been on a decline ever since. Battlefield 4 was the last one I actually enjoyed. If they could re-make the simple, fun game-play and the easily modded nature of the originals, I'd be pretty happy. It doesn't need to look like reality to be fun.

Yeah, but I'd like to keep the original gameplay, not necessarily switch to the new games. If you want, check out the Venom mod, it does a lot of good. Still, fancy looking catacombs with modern dynamic lighting and sound design would be awesome.

PS: About DAS UBERSOLDAT ingame - it's actually a grammatical error. "Soldat" is masculine in German, therefore uses "der". "Das" is for neutral words. So it should've been Der Übersoldat, I believe.

 

Gramatically you're right, but we know video game logics, that might extend to foreign language grammar as well

Would still love playing RTCW / ET multiplayer... was my first multiplayer shooter which I truely played, then came BF2...

Well there are rumors of a D2: Remaster announcement, due today or tomorrow... but only rumors so far. I believe it when I see it.

 

of course they will corporate bethesda will cash that in, not like there are good odds they can make another diablo. remasters are cheap and easy most of them, outside the few real efforts.

and d2 you slap a res patch on it like most of those games. there remastered, planetscape? baldurs gate? yea pretty much resolution patches.
