NVIDIA GeForce 451.48 WHQL Drivers: Download & Discussion

Getting some weird random slowdowns in COD MW multiplayer with this driver, i have enabled hags in windows, 2080ti on a gsync XG270QG (main monitor) Benq PD3200u 2nd monitor.

EDIT: I turned off VSYNC in NVCP for codmw and the random stutters and frame drops stopped, seems like vsync works differently with these drivers, so far now ill keep VSYNC off.

 

Strange- I played MW with friends for about an hour and it was smooth as glass. gtx 2060 and Dell 1440p 144hz monitor.

Maybe I am imaging it but I have noticed a lot less stuttering across several games since installing the v450.99 driver a month back and finding that HAGS was automatically enabled. Could be placebo but given the age of my base hardware - the CPU, motherboard and RAM date back to June 2013 - then I am happy to take what I can get even if I am just imagining it! Detroit: Almost Human, for example used to run so badly at 60 fps with lots of stuttering that I had to use the 30 fps to make it playable. Loaded this up last week and now it’s running flawlessly at 60 fps completely maxed out and with render scaling set to 125% (3200x1800 @ 2560x1440). Could just be driver optimisations and/or game patches I suppose.

 

Yup, you can also use Alt-F4 for shutdown/restart prompt.

 

Architectural improvements makes them more optimal for hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. However you should be able to mix GPUs (Pascal+ with older Kepler+ GPU) and still use HAGS on the newer GPUs.

 

Check the driver version again. Sometimes Windows Update will install an older driver in the background. You need to have driver R450 or higher installed for the setting to appear.

 

Ok silly question I'm using driver 455.41 which is wddm 2.8 would I see the difference going back to 2.7 with these drivers? Or when will get a new 455 driver? I'm lost with all the different driver options lol

Was anyone able to enable image sharpening? On 451.22 one could set "Enable application for Optimus" to 0x11 to get it working but it seems to no longer be the case here. I was testing on Dark Souls: Remastered.

 

If your info is correct on your profile and you have a 780 for a GPU HAGS only supports Pascal (10 series and up) and newer video cards.

Driver working great so far for me.

 

Anyone else's clock speed at idle just dropped massively?

Mine was sitting at 1600-ish now at 300, with much lower temps to match. (still boosts fine!)

 

My final thought about this driver, after lot of testings, this is a good one a little bit better than 451.22, but i noticed a huge drop of fps when HAGS + game mode enabled, HAGS enabled only: same as disabled or sometimes less fps, so the better way is to disable HAGS and game mode, but driver is a way better than all lately whqls

 

Btw why was that compute specifically created for maxwell? Is that somehow connected by it's limitation, just like this "hags" and context switching?

 

Thanks. Can you test it with the new driver and hardware scheduling turned off? Curious as to what that feature alone does.

 

That's how idle clocks are supposed to be though? If anything you had a bug before if your GPU didn't downclock properly.

Aren't they supposed to be unifying GFE and the CP at some point?

 

Gsync on my AOC stopped working with this driver.


edit:Nvm, now working.

But i think its working different, now only shows freesync(on monitor panel) if a open a game.
