Lag spikes when I'm playing csgo. High results latencymon

Hello guys please help me. I have microstutters when playing.

I recently made a test in Latencymon with opened csgo and closed it and this is the result:

I tried: CPU unpark, disable soundcard, disable network, 3 different nvidia driver, HPET off, Intel Speed Step disabled, C-states disabled ect...

The problem is still exist.

Windows 10 64 bit pro 2004 build

My pc: i5 9400F
nvidia 1660 6gb
2x8 gb ram
gigabyte z390 gaming x

to turn sound card, network card and video card into MSI mode.
But Latencymon shows one problem - big enough DPC time, while MSI mode is about ISR.

Specify which sound card, network card and which drivers do they use.

 

Have you updated other system drivers, such as Chipset or storage? Try Windows Update and get all patches it gives you and see if your game gets any better. Then go to your mobo manufacturer and get all driver updates.

Why did you install Windows 10 2004? Was it via Windows Update or you do it yourself? Try downgrading the Nvidia driver to 442.59 and test if the latency gets any better.

Windows 10 2004 is still kinda experimental; the best version for me at the moment is 1809 and fully updating it.

 

I recently had heavy stuttering and only 50% GPU utilization completely independent from graphics setting in Ghost Recon Wildlands.
I checked HAGS on/off, tested driver downgrades and thought about reverting from 2004 back to 1909.
Finally it was the HPET off, which affected this game (i don't play CS). Other tested games behaved normal.

In Bios HPET was activated, but my mod-windows came with a tool, which allowed me to disable via windows built in commands:

After reverting back to windows default setting [3] and [5], everything run fine again. I'm happy now with 451.22 + HAGS ON and i'm cured from timer tuning. (at least for some time)

The default or Windows 10 after fresh installation can be applied with the following cmd console commands (with admin rights). Some may give an error if the value doesn't exist.
bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock
bcdedit /deletevalue disabledynamictick
bcdedit /deletevalue tscsyncpolicy
Just give it a try. You always can "optimize" it again when it doesn't help with your problem.

Update: I have to add that the CPU utilization was quite high (50-60% with an AMD 3950X) normal is 20-24% in Wildlands.

I have hyperx soundcard. But i tried the following things:

Lan disabled
Soundcard disabled

Nothing works

 

Was just a fresh install.. u know.

I updated all drivers yes.

Bios update too

 

I tried this:

Okey, i found the problem... Was the nvidia driver.

432.00 works fine without high dpc. But its to old driver.

Can i fix somehow the newer driver issues?

 

Are you getting consistently high DPC latencies, the images you have provided only show the highest watermark for nvlddmkm.sys and that could be one event.

Do it again and check the stats page and check out the count per µs threshold

I checked in CS:GO and TF2 and the spike above does happen for me as well but only during alt-tab or game start when running in full screen mode so running latmon on a second monitor I could see there was no other instance of the spike during game play.

If you have one monitor and are alt-tabbing or starting and stopping the game to then check latmon you will always see a ~1.2 second spike but it could just be once.

Worth checking just in case DPC latency is not the direct cause of your microstutter and you go down the rabbit hole of changing OS settings and drivers.

Others have said 2004 is kinda beta with 20x overlays not LTS so id get use to W10 breaking from patch to patch. Also I've had problems with external Bluetooth devices. For example, my Xbox one controller will almost crash my PC when the batteries are low. It could be failing sensors on a keyboard & mouse or other devices.

if you already tested most parts. Probably the motherboard. Also 16gb of ram is not enough RAM and will see paging on windows 10 very easy. Tested with large fps loss on CoD warzone 16gb vs 24gb.

I see that your CPU has only 16 PCI-E lanes, so motherboard vendors should chain main PCI-E controller with additional ones to support all onboard controllers: SATA, USB, Network, Sound. Can you paste a screenshot of the Device Manager - after you switch view to "Resources by type" - expand "Interrupt request (IRQ)" root node and scroll down to (PCI) devices.

Do you actually use both NVMe and SATA controllers? If no then you can disable unused one in BIOS.

Another question: have you installed Windows in UEFI mode?
Launch "msinfo" from start menu and see the "BIOS Mode" value

PPS Have you tried to disable NVIDIA USB controllers in Device Manager?
