Hi. Can someone please explain what's the difference between a 20XX card & its Super/MaxQ version? I thought the Super versions were more powerful versions of the original cards (g.g 2070 super is more powerful than 2070, & thus gives more FPS, has more cuda cores & has higher MHz). Then MaxQ entered the picture. I read that the MaxQ is a powered down version of the original card, meaning less powerful & thus lower performance & FPS, but improves battery life. Correct me if I have got these facts wrong. Now, I am trying to buy a gaming laptop, & I thought of buying the super version of 2070 as I will anyway be plugged in while gaming & I want a powerful GPU & not MaxQ. Decided to go for the Gigabyte AORUS 17" Full HD 240Hz i7 RTX 2070 SUPER Laptop, which is "supposed" to be a super card, but some websites are mentioning that it is a Super MaxQ card?!! Like WTH... I thought super & maxQ were totally different versions... How can it be both super & maxq? It just means they made the card more powerful & made it less powerful again... Why will I have to pay £300 extra just for the same card? Can you please explain this as I am not finding answers anywhere. Should I go for a RTX 2070 or a 2070 Super MaxQ?

Nvidia really tried to make the it confusing. What happened with the good old 'm' for a mobile compared to the desktop.

So, according to this article, there is no standalone "Super" cards... There are only MaxQ or Super MaxQ, is that right? But I also found some laptops that are "Super" but have no MaxQ feature, as you can see in this Aorus laptop. Super Mobile, ie non Max-Q for laptops (linked above), and Super Max-Q also for laptops. Max-Q is for thin laptops. 80 watts TDP, 1080 MHz boost. 2070 Super mobile (non Max-Q) comes with same chip ,115 W TPD, 1380MHz boost; ~30% faster than Max-Q = RTX 2060
To conclude: there is 2070 Super for desktop. Laptop variants are: 2070 Super Mobile 2070 Super Max-Q
Ok. So there is a normal 2070, a super version and a super max-q version. There's no plain max-q version, right? Available options then: 2070 2070 Super 2070 Super Max-Q 2070 Max-Q doesn't exist? Or does it? So in terms of performance & power, the order (from most to least powerful) will be: 2070 Super 2070 2070 Super Max-Q 2070 Max-Q (if it exists)
Forget about plain 2070. It has been superseded by faster Super. Think if it as 2075. You get either 2070 Super, or if you want thinner laptop, you get Max-Q version.

If I were to buy the 2080 super Aorus, I know that there are versions which run 150W & those which run at 200W. Can I know which one I'm buying before I buy it? One running at 200W will be more powerful & I'd want that preferably, thus the question.
