As much as I love Steam, Epic came swinging out hard this last week! I got Metro Exodus, Control, and AC Odyssey for $40 dollars! What an exciting time for PC gaming!

Yep , they are doing pretty good TBH

I kind of wish i could transfer over all my steam games over to their client, so i wouldn't have to use steam anymore.

Unfortunately they still have a lot of work to do on their launcher, because the lack of quality is obvious, even compared to the outdated steam launcher.

Gave away over $2000 worth of games? Thats... Epic!

I think many have installed their store and have also bought something from it. I wonder how long they are going to be doing this before they expect to make profit with their store.

I personally helped Epic save "way over 2000$" (in more or less old game keys). My yearly charity donations are more than done, and I feel righteous now.

    /s.

After GOG Galaxy 2.0 have come, I only use that for all my games.. It grather all the games you have in your different launchers and add them to this one launcher..

I take the games from Epic when they are free but will never use a dime at their store..

Since I chose to not use either I can't tell, but isn't the reason for that usually to get around Denuvo and it's alleged huge performance impact in a few of those games?

Epics is trowing money trying to compete against Steam but i don´t think that´s going to work... It would be better if they applied that money in reducing the prices of all the games they sell, this way they would have a real advantage over Steam.

understandable when gta5's now behind a slow loading launcher and a slower connecting ownership validation ... not to mention the recaptcha.

Take the freebies. Pirate the exclusives.

For everything else there is GoG and Steam.

I should have created hundreds of accounts and sold all of them through ebay for half the price

Noob. I was against Epic's tactics back in the day. Now I am a casual buyer there. Nice discounts, epic offerings. And I am gonna buy more and more each day passing. Epic should be the launcher everyone has installed after steam everybody use. GOG, origin, uplay are all a fine team. I am more concerned about useless launchers like rockstar, bethesda or others with almost no use at all. ;)

Slow loading launcher ? It seems normal to me, compared to the other launchers we all use. What do you mean slower ownership validatio ? 2fa has beel long overdue , my rockstar account was hacked last year, because i was to dumb to not set double verification there. so im happy , it is now available on epic's launcher as well.
I read that cheaters really hate the 2 step verification as well, since it makes it harder to re-create things if you are banned. So im all for it.

The launcher can sit for up to a minute or longer on the RockStar animating logo trying to log in, this delays the games start.
also if you can't log in now, you can't even play single player.

That sounds bad, is it different on steam ? I know their servers have been terrible busy since the giveaway started.

I hope they don't broke themselves doing that since I really like Unreal Engine and Quixel Mixer being free.
